The staff is also very helpful if you want to explore the island. I can highly recommend Mafia Dream Hotel if you are looking for a place at Mafia Island.

Gorgeous setting and fabulous staff! They helped arrange all of our tours, which were phenomenal. Abi was so attentive to our requests and made us feel like we were staying with friends not just guests. I hope to return!

They make delicious veggie burgers, nice seafood, etc. Beautiful local bungalow - super clean. Cleaning ladies came 2 x a day to my bungalow to prepare room for my comfort. Very nice staff, always smiling, helpful. Owner Mussa is a great person. Highly recommend this place.

The staff was amazing, very hospitable and took care of everything. Breakfast and dinner was great, they have a really great chef and attentive personnel. They also rented us bikes for free, such that we could drive to the dive shop (~10 minutes by bike). Great and inexpensive stay!

KK is extremely tranquil and perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of anywhere else. The setting is so peaceful hidden under the high canopy of the tropical forest. The staff are amazing and so helpful with anything on the island. The food is tasty and great value. The area has no other tourists so very quiet. The outdoor showers with Kerosene heating is pretty cool too.

Dispondo de lounge compartilhado e vista do pátio interno, o Mgeni Homestay é uma hospedagem domiciliar sustentável situada em Kilindoni, a 6,6 km da Reserva Marinha Rufiji Mafia Kilwa. Mgeni Homestay was the best value accomodation that we've stayed in during our African travels. While the building itself is basic the rooms have everything you need: comfortable bed and pillows, mosquito net, ceiling fan, somewhere to sit that isn't the bed and places to hang your drying towels (and clothes if you've done some handwashing). Aly was also very helpful at organising excursions and taxis for us, while Bunda cooked fresh, delicious and generous meals (including a good amount of vegetables, which can be hard to come by). The homestay is close enough to the airport that you can walk there if you have packs (not ok for wheelie suitcases) and don't mind a hot walk. The ATMs are also a short walk further than the airport so they are also accessible. We appreciated our stay so much that we returned for second stay before leaving the island.
