Ponte Vecchio
Peruse the shops perched above the River Arno on this pedestrian bridge. Dating back to 972, its history is the stuff of storybooks. Ponte Vecchio’s seen it all from noble feuds to ruinous floods. Once a market where vendors sold meat, the smell of raw flesh tossed in the Arno disgusted the Medici dukes. Today’s retailers are much less carnivorous (they’re jewellers).

You have to buy something from 18-karat gold here☺️! It’s not cheap but gold is tradition in Florence ( and leather). But be prepared that it’s only not crowded in the morning (when only few shops are open though).

Our hotel was adjacent to this attraction so we had a daily view of it. The photo shown by booking.com does not resemble what it looked like in December. The bridge itself is wall to wall jewellery shops. A good time to visit is before or after they close. The shop fronts change back to the original wooden frontage and makes for a good photo.

Since I visited Florence four times in the 21 years, I know enough where to choose as accomandation. On our last visit, we took an apartment on the southern side of the river, the Bridge was just below our window. The city view is both fantastic and classic. It is the apartment with almost the same view of the location of the "hotel room" where the film "Room with a view" was shot. It is like a dream coming true.

We went in November so I'm not sure if maybe they don't have lights at night during the colder months but we were bummed when we went at night and couldn't really see anything. Go during the day to see the full affect!

This place is simply too overcrowded with street peddlers and tourists. It is hard to take a decent photos. Nevertheless, it is pretty lively and vibrant. Take some time to admire the artworks of the local artists as they nimbly sketch the beautiful views from Ponte Vecchio.

Beautiful apartment and have all we needed. Clear instructions to check in. Keyless. User Manuel around the house is available. Good for our group of 5. Location is slightly out of the main attractions but still walking distance to train station. We booked here as there's private parking garage. Nice stroll by the river to Ponte vecchio, doumo....
Every thing.really every thing was perfect.specially the location.very near the duomo and piazza signoria and ponte vecchio.the staffs are so nice....thanks of all of them, mrs Vania,Gabriella and the third one that i dont know her name.If we come back to Florence,we exactly come to this hotel.
Hotel was very well managed, very tasteful set-up, good breakfasts, good location, good service, comfortable room, walking distance to train station and Ponte Vecchio. There were restaurants just across the road.
The location was fabulous-just across the Arno and close to Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery. The master bedroom was nicely appointed and the bathrooms were bright and modern. This is a great apartment for a couple or single person who isn't interested in spending a lot of time there.
Clean and modern apartment, has all you might need (elevator, towels, fan, tv, iron, vine kit, bath kit etc). Super close to a beautiful Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi. Diego was very attentive on WhatsApp and met us when we arrived. We didn’t find it noisy. Breakfast is nice and the restaurant is perfect for beautiful pictures with Duomo.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. 15 to 20 minutes stroll along the river to Ponte Vecchio. Room was lovely, very quiet and very clean. Reception very helpful and breakfast was lovely - plenty of choice. A perfect base in a perfect City. We stayed for 5 nights and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay just along the river from the centre.
Excellent location 5 minutes from ponte vecchio the uffizi the palazzo vecchio and Neptune square. Also just 8 minutes from the duomo.
Just 15 minutes walk from the train station
Lovely apartment with everything you need including a terrace that's nice on a hot day.
Must be able to cope with steep stairs up into the apartment. Building has an elevator to the apartment door but further steps into the apartment
Lots of shops in the street and lovely churches.
We chose the Classic Hotel because it was very close to our destination. We were just steps away from the Boboli Gardens, and a 20-minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, and the Uffizi Gallery. The setting is delightful, on Viale dei Colli, and the building is a late 19th-century mansion, near Porta Romana, surrounded by greenery, in a peaceful and quiet setting. The concierges were very helpful and kind.
The location is excellent with easy walking to all Florence attractions. The panoramic view of Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and Arno river is breathtaking. The apartment is very spacious and has everything one needs on vacation. We stayed for longer making it our base for in depth exploring Florence and taking multiple day trips to other towns in Tuscany. It is an easy walk to train station too. Management promptly replied to our requests.
