The location is really convenient as we were moving around by bike and it's really close to the train station but also to the little village and the forest.
The staff was super nice and accommodating. Everything is clean, and the place is very quiet and relaxing. The food was really good as well.

Dinner was ok, beef was a little over, but we did eat towards the end of the day. The turkey was amazing!
Breakfast was good.
Portion sizes are excellent!
Lovely big garden.
We needed to hose the dog down, the staff were very helpful and got the hose out for us - perhaps, have an outside tap & hose ready for customers so the staff doesn't need to be disturbed.
Will definitely stay here again.
Such a beautiful hotel, very welcoming. Staff were amazing nothing too much trouble, the food was excellent so nice to have vegetables with our meals not just the usual chips. The signature pies were amazing . Just be aware of the stairs to the bedrooms very steep

The Bell Inn is several miles from Lyndhurst in the beautiful New Forest; lovely walks over heath and woodland and, if you're lucky, you'll encounter ponies, donkeys and pigs roaming free locally; drive carefully!

Lyndhurst is a great place to stay for exploring the New Forest. It has a good mix of interesting shops and restaurants and a good sized car-park in the centre.
That said, it can get very busy and there can be traffic queues in high-season since it is a bit of a bottleneck. So I'd recommend visiting slightly off-season.

What let it down for us was the lack of options for gluten free breakfast no cereals no fruit no yogurts then when we did get breakfast it was cold toast rock hard it wasn’t even busy only us two for breakfast
We wanted to order gluten free fish and chips but fryer broken so was limited on evening options but what we did order was tasty I must say I was impressed by the staff knowledge on g/f intolerance and allergies.

Lyndhurst has some interesting shops particularly the antiques emporium and some nice pubs and restaurants and the Anglican church of St Michael's where the original Alice who was the model for ''Alice in Wonderland''was buried.
I went to the Passage to India Indian restaurant which is quite near to the Penny Farthing hotel.
There is a Ferrari showroom if you want to check them out but the cars are very expensive.

It is a lovely village, full of character.
It is a lovely village, full of character. It was the fourth, or fifth, time we have stayed in, or around, Lyndhurst. There are great shops, cafe's, restaurants and pubs. It is small enough to comfortably walk around. We ate in "The Forage, which is a modern Italian style restaurant with a very good menu selection. The only issue is that Lyndhurst is a focal point for all the roads into and out of the NewForest, which often leads to long traffic queues into and out of the village. However, the main road through is one way, which makes it easier for pedestrians to cross.
Beautiful house with 3 bedrooms available. Owners helped bring the luggage to the rooms upstairs. Entrance is more or less private as the rest of the house can be, and is closed off. Breakfast was great, cooked to order, and the owners Nick and Judith spent some time chatting with us about their business location is perfect. The main street of Lyndhurst is very picturesque with lots of shops and restaurant from which to choose. Avalon house is just a 5 minute walk away. Would absolutely stay here again.
The location is ideal. You can walk out the door and on to the heath which is ideal for dogs. There was an indoor swimming pool which we had been unaware of when we booked so consequently didn’t bring costumes and were unable to use it. It is a five minute drive to Lyndhurst the nearest town. The staff were friendly although in our experience, one in particular member, was totally in affective. The hotel is dog friendly which is an extra £15 per night. Towel, biscuits and feed mat are provided.
The Stag Hotel was excellent. Great facilities, very clean. Plenty of space and a lovely staff team. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. We really enjoyed the pie of the day as well as lunch offerings and the breakfast that was included in our stay was consistently very good. We didn't bring our dog, but over our 3 day stay many people brought in their dogs. It was very dog friendly, they even offer a dog menu for a Sunday Roast!
Having spent several 100s nights per year in big international hotel brands it was refreshing to experience this family owned 26 room coaching Inn. Perfectly situated within 3-4 minutes drive from the M27 yet walking distance to beautiful parts of the New Forest. Exceptional restaurant for both breakfast and evening meals; taken in the dog friendly bar. Will stay here again and most certainly stop for a cup of their wonderful coffee.
We stayed in one of the shepherds huts, self catering. This was very compact and charming with a nice outside seating area. A sort of glamping really. Good shower and comfortable bed. The self-catering facilities comprised a kettle and microwave/stove which suited us . We did not use the hotel dining facilities. A great location for all areas of the New Forest.
Very comfortable hotel, staff were all helpful and very friendly. Excellent location within short walking distance of Lyndhurst's shops and restaurants.
Breakfast was great with a good selection of well cooked hot choices and generous servings. The small full breakfast lasted us all day!
The hotel staff were very welcoming and remembered that my partner wanted to watch F1 (mentioned when we booked in ) and put it in for him on the bar TV. Room was lovely and clean and brilliant value for money. Easy to walk into Lyndhurst and a big car park and restaurant. Excellent stay
We have stayed several times, twice this year so far. The Crown Manor is a go to hotel for us for a little break as we love the New Forest and Lyndhurst in particular. The hotel ticks all the boxes for us in terms of location, comfort and the lovely staff.
The location of the hotel is excellent, a 5 minute walk into the centre of Lyndhurst in the New Forest with shops and restaurants. Hotel is peaceful and parking is easy on the street outside. Room was immaculate. Would certainly stay again.
It was one of the best Hotels I ever stayed in. Lovely Hotel, beautiful rooms with baths, nicely & quaint setting, the most helpful and friendliest staff I have ever come across, and an fabulous & delicious breakfast.
This is a very nice hotel with lots of seating areas nice ambience and pleasant staff
