Almunecar is a small seaside resort which has two separate bays,
one with a promenade where restaurants overlooking the sea can be found and small fishing boats used to be launched. The other bay has more activity with outdoor cocktail bars and parasols on the beach, which is close to the resorts main shops. If you want to relax for a few days in the sun this would be an ideal location but local transport is limited with no train service.

Wonderful city and extraordinary people.
Wonderful city and extraordinary people. The Roman ruins and the castle are wonderfully preserved. The archaeological museum is worth visiting. A walking tour around the city, and popping in and out of the different shops, and bars (with tapa included) provides quite an experience.

Almuñécar is a great town with very nice beaches. Lots of bars and restaurants with great tapas. The fort is well worth a visit with great views of the surrounding area. The old town is very quaint and on the seafront there a walk up to a viewing platform overlooking the sea.

Mid sized town / long sea front promenade, mostly flat but some hilly stretches. Few shops along prom but all essentials. Several snackbars, cafes & restaurants along the front but we were happy to eat in the hotel; Big beach and sea mostly calm

Almuñecar is a bit mixed. .
Almuñecar is a bit mixed. .The town has centuries of history, but a lot was ruined by wars and earthquakes. It shifted to budget tourism from sugarcane and fishing in the 1960s. Now it's going upmarket. It's surrounded by orchards and hills, and has some lovely areas of charming villas. Culturally, it's a bit special. Even though it's a small town, It has an arts centre with a decent theatre. There are concerts two or 3 times a week, even in winter, and jazz, flamenco and theatre festivals in the summer. Good restaurants, nice beaches. Public transport isn't great unless it's midsummer, so if you don't have a car, I suggest that you stay somewhere near the centre.
Views : The view of the sea from the house was stunning and made our mornings really special.
Clean and Tidy: The house was well-maintained and clean.
Comfort: The beds were comfy, and the living area was very spacious for our family.
Kitchen: well-equipped kitchen was convenient for us to prepare meals.
Friendly Host: The hosts were welcoming and helpful.
Pool: The garden area with its pool was excellent to relax.
Location: Conveniently located close to Granada, Malaga with lots of walking routes nearby
As soon as we entered the hotel, I had a good feeling about the place. It felt like a long established hotel which was well maintained with pride by the staff. We stayed half board and the food and dining area was pleasant. There was a large bar area and lovely looking pool area. We stayed in February and got a very good price for our room. I loved the location by the sea too. I would definitely return if in the area.
An absolutely super hotel. You would expect to pay twice the price at least for the level of comfort and luxury. The location was delightful and the balcony, with sea view was a perfect way to unwind after a day out. Likewise the roof terrace or bar downstairs. The staff were lovely and the room was huge, luxurious and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
Perfect for a Stay between Malaga and Granada. Used that house as a base for hiking trips into Sierra Nevada and Sierra Tejeda.
The owner is super friendly and explained us everything about the house when we arrived.
City Almuñecar with supermarkets, shops and all needed is 10-15 car minutes away.
From the highway it's less then 5 minutes.

This is our second stay at the Helios. He’s an outstanding facility, with beautiful ocean view. The amenities, the room decor is heavenly, and the service from the staff is exceptional. I give the locale a hard- earned four star rating.
The Helios is a ‘must’ when staying in Almunecar.
The location is wonderful, 20 yards from the beach and the view is perfect. The size of the room was good. The nearest town Almunecar is lovely with a great promenade and all the shops you need. The car park and our dog didn’t cost us anything extra.
A very good apartment. Fresh, clean and stylish and a very good location in Almunecar close to the beach and the center. And the host Marina was very good and helpful. We can really recommend this living in all ways.
Nice room. The hotel is very well situated near the center of Almuñecar. The breakfast and dinner are acceptably nice. You can go to the swimming pool on the roof of the building and have a very nice view from there.
The rooms were spacious, and the pool looked nice (was too cold to swim). The hotel is in front of the little beach but on the outskirts of the town. Breakfast was ok, however the same on all 3 days we were there.
Very comfortable beds + lovely bed linen with extra pillows. Really lovely, quirky design of hotel. Very clean throughout. Room serviced early. Good breakfast. Stunning sea view.
We had a big apartment, the kitchen needs to be updated, looking quite sad, but otherwise the facilities were great. Best part of the hotel is the pool area.
