Alexander Lodge isn't a hotel in the traditional sense. It's unique and beautiful, welcoming and comfortable, but more like a guest house. Actually, it's someone's home, with additional guestrooms that are available to guests when the owner isn't present. There isn't a reception desk, but there are very kind, helpful hosts (Abdallah & Abdelfattah; co-owners, I believe) at hand to meet the needs of their guests. We were the only guests present when we arrived; a family arrived a day or 2 later, but we only encountered them when we were relaxing in the beautiful garden. The only meals we had at the Lodge were breakfasts, and we had the dining room to ourselves. I don't know if other meals can be arranged. With a single dining table (another small table in the corner), I also don't know how multiple guests' meals would be accomodated. Really, it's a lovely place, with a beautiful separate space for watching movies, reading, or playing board games, and there's also a sauna. It's somewhat removed from the center of Siwa, about a 15-20 minute walk to the central "midan" (square), where most restaurants are located. We also easily walked to Amun's Temple and Cleopatra's Bath from the Lodge using GoogleMaps on our phones to guide us. "Tuktuks" (sort of hybrid motorcycle/wagon taxis) can also be called to get around the place, providing really bumpy rides on the mostly rutted roads of Siwa. That's how we got to the Gebel el Mawt and to Fatna's Island to watch the sunset. Abdallah and Abdelfattah will assist with arranging for any necessary transportation to get around and see the area. They are both excellent hosts. They arranged for a 4x4 car to take us out into the desert. We had a wonderful time there, and I'd happily return and stay at Alexander's Lodge (particularly now that I know what to expect).

Also, at night there is a campfire and music on the speakers, which makes for a fun time!

A very peaceful and beautiful place. Amany is the best host - a calm, warm and helpful presence.
Close enough to the main town (we walked once and it was about 20 mins) but you can get to anywhere for a cheap price in a tuk tuk. The desert safari was incredible! we opted for a private one with dinner and it did not disappoint - so much fun with incredible stars and Amany booked us the best chef in town who cooks the food under the sand. Would recommend!

Our time at Cafour House is the number one holiday I've had so far. As we arrived, Abdu and Nora (the owners) were helping and showed us around. Their kindness, communication and hospitality is waaay more than the expected, we really could enjoy the time here without any problem.
We had traditional egyptian breakfast, and also had lunch and dinner here for a very reasonble price. All meals were quite big portions, and tasted very well, thanks to the kitchen staff!:)
The hot spring is very nurturing, you can literally see the stars from the tub at night. One of my favourite.
The location is a bit far from the city centre, but you can experience real silence and peace here without and disturbing sounds.
The centre of Siwa city is a 15 min ride by tuktuk, for a very reasonable price. Abdu and Nora also helped us with the programmes, we tried desert safari (100%worth it) and we visited the Salt Lakes, the Cleopatra Spring, the Oracle Temple, the Amun Temple and watched the sunset on a nice spot with Hakam. He is an excellent tour guide, he knows a lot about this mysterious little city. I can fully recommend to ask him for guiding.
It's hard to summon the whole experience in one single sentence, but i'll try:
I will definitely come back:)
Greetings and hugs from 2 hungarian traveler

A beautiful green lake sits among this ocean of yellow sand, but Siwa has more than just breathtaking sceneries, it carries a culture of its own; local habitants of Siwa actually speaks their own language, which is more like the language spoken by the Berber (desert people from further west), than the Egyptian Arabic spoken in the rest of Egypt.

Visit Siwa if you are looking for history and nature. The Mountain of the dead and The Temple of the Oracle are must see sites. Take the desert safari to explore the desert, ride around sand dunes, see an oasis, visit a hot spring. Nice!

Siwa is on of hidden Gems globally, it takes 7 hours by car from Cairo the Capital, Enjoy the nature in every single thing, starting from morning, enjoy a traditional Bedouin breakfast, Safari in western desert with local guide, sand surfing, and Tea on fire, ending it up with midnight camping on middle of nowhere,
Second day, the salt lakes where it heal your skin burns or scars, do it carefully and don't put your eyes into the water, Never. Ending up in Cleopatra spring to wash up all your sins, ;)
Third day, have a round in old Siwa, enjoying Abdo Rest. eating local food and shop around for pure healthy herbs.

There is little to do here.
There is little to do here. Two mediocre archaeological sites, one spring (Cleopatra pool). Only one restaurant. The fresh water lake has no real access. The salt lake is a long drive to where you can swim in rectangular mined areas.
It might be ok for people who want to hang out in their hotel beside a pool and do nothing. Flies everywhere and bad mosquitoes at dusk and dawn.

Everyone deserves a trip to Siwa.
Everyone deserves a trip to Siwa. I know the road there and back may dissuade you but it is entirely worth your time. In fact, I would dare say you NEED to come here. Here you will experience a different culture than the hustle and bustle of Cairo and Luxor. There is plenty going on here but it is much less crowded and much more peaceful. The Siwa Salt Lakes are a must-see experience. There is something almost other-worldly in the air here, especially coming from the busy streets of more densely populated Egyptian cities. Just a few days here in the middle of your trip and you will feel ready to tackle the rest of your Egyptian cities. Missing this place and all the tuktuk rides so much!
Beautiful place with private hot spring. You can sit at the fire in the evening, enjoying the guitar. Friendo is a very kind owner. He takes good care after you, preparing fresh breakfast. You also can make tours with him, showing you the beauty of Siwa. I stayed 4 days and Friendo became a real friend, he makes you feeling at home. If you are looking for silence in good company you should stay at Friendo‘s house.
Thanks Friendo, hope to see you again inshallah
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Siwa Spot. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The building's aesthetic charm added to the overall experience, and the spacious interior provided ample room to relax. Having the ability to cook in the well-equipped kitchen was a definite plus, and the facilities exceeded expectations. If I ever come back in the future I will definitely stay here again!
I would like to say THANK YOU to the hotel staff. We arrived in Siwa early in the morning and they allowed us to check in in the morning and allowed us to have breakfast without extra payment.
On our last day we were allowed to check out in the evening before departure of our bus.
Very nice area, comfortable rooms. During My next trip to Siwa I would like to stay here again.
Special thanks to Mr Youssef
See you next time Inshallah
Albabenshal is conveniently located in the center of Siwa below the old fortress. It is a 5 minute walk from the bus station. The design of the lodge has been done well with simplicity and using local resources to create an inviting, unique and restful place to stay. The staff are welcoming and accommodating from room arrangements to helping us arrange outings on the day of. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Siwa.
Faraj has been a wonderful host. You can't miss on him, he's a knowledgeable guy that loves his bedouins roots and is ready to share them with you. The place itself is amazing, to visit Siwa you can't look for anything more. Room, bathroom and breakfast exceeded my expectations and will make sure to come back when I'll have the chance.
The hotel itself is really cute and makes you feel at home. Breakfast is really good and includes wifi. Best of all the staff. Amany, the host, is a fantastic woman that helped me with all my tours. Youssif showed me around one of the days and he was amazing as well. If you come to Siwa you have to stay here, 100% recommended.
Everything was just perfekt. The room was quiet and very clean. Everyone was super friendly and amazingly helpful. The breakfast is great and the trips as well as transfers can be booked directly in the hotel. I would highly recommend everyone to stay here during their stay in Siwa - this is truly a oasis in the oasis.
I spent 5 nights at Grand Siwa and loved the place at the foothills of the mountains! Very nice and comfortable room, fantastic and varied breakfast cooked by Emad, warm and so friendly welcome that you feel at home immediately! Thank you so much Ali, Emad and Yasser for this rejuvenating holiday! I will come back:):)
Very quite place, the staff super friendly, mr. Ali was taking care of me like family, people of siwa are so friendly and generous. I really enjoyed the stay and serenity 😌 something i was looking for long time especially with my crowded busy city life
Very beautiful space with a great energy, very peaceful, very cozy, Maryhan and Khaled are amazing and made the stay super special, very delicious breakfast, not too far from Downtown Siwa but still very calm! We felt very much at home 🌞
Emad was so incredibly kind and accommodating, we had such a lovely time in Siwa because of him. The property is located downtown (7 minute walk from the bus station), but has the feel of staying in a camp which was really nice.
Ahmed was very helpful in navigating us through the magical town of Siwa, the design is really cool and the rooms are nice and chilled with great views outside of the stars at night, would highly recommend for a chilled stay
Seliyaa Siwa is not just a hotel, but it's a place for the best memories. The staff is amazing and they provide assistance all the time, so friendly people especially Ahmed & Amani, I recommended for any one who visit Siaw
This is my third time at Olive Garden Siwa. It is an amazing ecolodge with wonderful services and staff. Additionally, the new eco-friendly units facing the fresh water pool are unique and relaxing.
Nice experience in Siwa Oasis, hotel made of mud with gangs and ways everywhere, cosy room, nice terrace, perfect location.
