It seems to be in the middle of nowhere but that is exactly the charm of it. We were immeditaely very warmly greeted by Carlos and taken to a lovely room which was immaculate. A bottle of local wine was waiting for us. We were asked if we would like dinner and were then give a few choices. We were there off season and were the only guests in the restaurant so dinner was prepared especially for us and it was fabulous!!! Made with so much love. The same for breakfast. Our table was laid out with so many nice choices and again, just for us. The dinning area is so quaint. Really quite special. After having been surrounded by ship tourists this place was exactly what we were seeking. If you are looking for some peace and quiet and a piece of authentic countryside this is the perfect place.

Located in the heart of Manteigas, it offered convenience and easy access to everything. The owner, Elsa, one of the best hostesses in Portugal, made my stay truly memorable and welcoming. Highly recommend SerraVale for a wonderful experience in Manteigas and in Serra da Estrela.
