Always our number one choice when going to Chopok! Always super clean, rooms very spacious and great equipped, wellness is great, location is the best (you’re right beside the ski lift), and the food is unbelievably amazing, the most delicious in the whole region!!! Staff are so wonderful and helpful, and sometimes the owners are there too and they are also such welcoming and great people always trying make sure your stay is the best possible. We have stayed in many hotels around the world, but there are only a few we always enjoy going back to, and this is one of them!

We ended up staying at sister Hotel Bistrina, which is few steps away and has a spa (didn’t use). I’d expert they both provide same comfort. Room was good,comfortable,clean. Breakfast at the Koliba very good, nice selection. We also dined at the Koliba and enjoyed that. Location is at the beginning of Demanovska Dolina,we used car to get to Jasna because it was already out of high season. During main ski season I would suggest skibus,due to lack of parking possibilities in Jasna.

Demanovska Dolina is a verly long village, so it depends when you are going and what you want to do. If you want to ski all day, I would recommend to find accommodation directly on the slope / under the lift, as otherwise you will have to drive with your car or with a ski bus for 20 - 30 min and you might not even fit in the bus which tends to be full. However, if your aim is not solely skiing, you might want to stay in the village, as the place for walking might be better there than on the slope. The ski area is smaller than in the usual Alpine resorts, but big enough for an intermediate skier. Demänovská Dolina is a stunning place that I recently visited. It is surrounded by beautiful nature and offers a multitude of opportunities for hiking and exploration. One of the highlights of my stay was the option to take cable cars that led me to the ridges of the hills. From there, I could embark on beautiful hiking trails with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. It was an amazing experience to venture along these adventurous paths. Demänovská Dolina also provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. New ski area for mediate level skiers good. Well prepared slopes. Apres ski not great and no supermarket in the area only 12 km drive away. Beautiful nature and great views. Expensive for Slowakia standards (ski passess 65 euro/day, ski rental 40 Euro/day, ski lession 40 euro/per person/per hour). We will be returning with our expectations adjusted.

The SPA area is so incredible, it is clean and cozy as well and has warm temperatures after a long day on your skis. Really helpful the heated locker for the skis to dry overnight. The check in was really comfortable since we received the door key code and could come by ourselves any time that was comfortable. Slavomir was extremely helpful with his instructions, he also kindly allowed us to check out later then usual time, which we deeply appreciated before the long road back home. After 2 days we felt like a family. The host and his wife operate the house and this super friendly and take care for all you need. There is a bar with small restaurant in the house.
