Wonderful house in the fantastic Furnas! It's a very traditional house with a soul and very tranquile athmosphere. It is situated very close to Pocas da d.Beija hot springs - which is my favorite place in Furnas.
We had very nice time there and already dreaming to come back one day!

The comfort - we were almost alone, location, the communication and help of the host, everything. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom huge.
Wonderful place to stay in Furnas! It is quiet, but 5 minute walk to everything. Below is our itinerary for the three days we stayed here:

Evening- Dinner at Mirando (Civado Stew is delicious and pudding/chorizo)
Wednesday, July 5th
Monring- early breakfast and hike Salto de Prego
Day- road trip to Nordeste, beaches, miraduros, hike, tea Plantation Gorreana
Evening- hot pools at Breija and A Quinta outside for dinner
Thursday, July 6th

Beautiful destination full with bubbling hot waters, "jurastic" parks, hot thermal baths and potable springs. Do not miss to see how the Cozido is cooked on the hot waters and to taste it at Miroma restaurant or Tony's. From here, go to the free of charge park with nice waterfalls Jardim Botânico da Ribeira do Guilherme. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, definitely make a reservation to Centro de Interpretação Ambiental da Caldeira Velha and visit the Gorreana tea plantation if you like.

Beautiful spot was pleasantly surprised by the amount of things available in the local shop, we had a perfect kitchen for cooking so we didn't get to eat and can't comment on the local restaurants.

Furnas is a a great location to visit when on the island. Beautiful town and the seeing the calderas is a must when there. The gardens are beautiful and great for an extended walk. Eating the cozido from the volcanic waters was a highlight. Very good!

Furnas has a lot of interesting features- gardens, thermal baths, spa, Cozido meal, and restaurants.
It is easy to walk around
It is also handy to a lot of the other places . Sete Cidades was about the furthest away and took about 1 hour .
We really liked staying in one spot and doing day trips from there .
We ate at Tony’s right in walking distance both for our Cozido lunch and another evening for dinner .

Our in town stay in Furnas was just right for us but 3 days...
Our in town stay in Furnas was just right for us but 3 days (vs. 5) would be sufficient if time was an issue. We did not have a car and took a taxi from Ponta Delgada (45 Euros) and everything in Furnas was within walking distance of our Casa Alivas unit including Furnas Lake, the fumarolas cooking cozido (local stew), Parque Grena and Jose do Canto forest garden & waterfall located around the lake (about a 45-50 min walk from town center) . Additionally, Terra Nostra Garden was 2 blocks from our accommodation as well as many "discoveries" just walking through the town area including a cascading waterfall & aquarium at a local park where you can put your feet in the warm water, the steaming thermal calderas at another part of town, many restaurants, fruit shops, markets, & stores along with several historic buildings and sites. The bakery/cafe of Gloria Moniz (2 locations--go to the one called "Bolos Levados") is not only helpful & friendly but provides an excellent opportunity to try local tasty treats while enjoying an outdoor garden setting. Bolos Levados are a local Portuguese sweet muffin good for sandwiches or toast. Must try.
We like to hike and walk so exploring Furnas was a worthwhile part of our 2 week adventure to Sao Miguel.
Nice location in Furnas, it's a building with 2 holiday apartments. The apartment was cute and cozy, great to stay in and relax a bit, but perfect location to walk around Furnas or pop over to the hot springs. Kitchen was well stocked and some basics (oil, salt/pepper) were left which is nice if you don't mind using what is on hand for a few at-home cooking moments. We loved the balcony and view of the taro root farm and spent some nice time reading and drinking coffee there while taking in the views.
Hotel and grounds are gorgeous. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Location is perfect for exploring the beautiful rugged eastern side of Sao Miguel. The facilities are truly special. Spa, thermal pools. Abundant breakfast. Comfortable and pretty room with garden views. Particularly recommend the house drink, the Furnas Hot Springs, if you are a fan of warm rum drinks.
The location and space was perfect for us. The owner was responsive. It was spotlessly clean and provided everything for a short stay.it is very quiet in the apartment even though the main door is on a busy street. Parking across the road was easy and free. The location allowed us to walk to the gardens and restaurants.
This is the perfect place to stay. Very very relaxing, nice, clean, comfortable place. I highly recommend this place if you stay in Furnas. It was away big enough for 3 of us!
We actually stayed at 3 different places in this area while our stay in Furnas. This is the best place.
We really enjoyed having the supplies to make our own breakfast! They went out of their way to supply GF options. The receptionist Vera, went out of her way to help us with directions and laundry issues. This was our favorite place we stayed in 6 places on the Azores!
The environment of the hotel is wonderful, when you come in , it is another world, very fresh air, trees, bamboos, water fall. etc. It is a very good place for the people from city to have a silent and relax place.
The staff were fantastic - so nice and accommodating! The bar, lounge and restaurant atmospheres were all good and the breakfast was great. The spa was excellent. Overall, we had a very good stay.
The location is absolutely perfect! Walking distance to so much in Furnas. The apartment was adorable, clean and comfortable with laundry! (which they don't mention) an absolute gem to stay
Host was very communicative and helpful. Place is very clean and excellent location in the center of Furnas. Free parking right outside. Really nice covered outdoor sitting area.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, heartwarming attention to our baby and a kind staff that was happy to help. We want to give a good mention to Anna, she's just lovely!
Wonderful breakfast was included with our rate. The hotel facility was very nice but a bit dated. The staff was very professional and want to be seen as a first class hotel.
3-floor house with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the center of Furnas. Quite convenient for a small group like ours. Great location to explore that side of the island.
It exceeded my expectation actually. Hotel had “soul” was placed in a nice location - it was not fancy at all, but I didn’t expect it (and actually I don’t like it)
Exceptional place for vacation. Everything is very good - small city Furnas, Casa Calante, place and Helena, property owner makes your vacation unforgettable.
The breakfast was good! And the property went far beyond the 2 star hotel standards! If I come back to Furnas, this will be the place I’ll be staying ☺️
