Valkenswaard is a lovely town.
Valkenswaard is a lovely town. We went there for the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Town in 1944 with the Market Garden Push. We go to visit the grave of a relative. Lots of good restaurants. Greek Restaurant Sirtaki was excellent. Steak House Beer & Beefs, really good Steaks. Very nice high street & shopping areas. Always beautiful flowers on display, & the people of the town are very friendly. Bus service looks good, but I am told they do not take cash, only cards. No direct bus to airport. No free Car Parking, so we longer hire a car when we are there. But we also had difficulty getting a Taxi to the airport , so friends took us.

The grounds are serene and interesting. There are wild falcons and their nests as well as chickens, bee hives, gardens, walnut grove, and a wonderful tea terrace with tasty fare.
