The property was very comfortable. The hosts provided coffee, water, cleaning supplies, well designed, thoughtful accommodations, safety, laundry...the list goes on. The television worked fine. I liked having a full kitchen with pots, silverware, cups, etc. The place was clean and had a modern appeal. The back room is less noisy and I loved the blackout curtains. The beds were SUPER comfy. The water pressure in the shower is nice and suitable for someone tall. The hosts answered our messages very quickly. The appliances were modern and working in perfect condition. The closets were very spacious.

Beautiful quaint town, that has so much to offer. some beautiful properties, views, and long walks by the lake. Beautiful people who are eager to serve you. Best breakfast at the hotel Plaza Chapala, prepared by Veronica a wonderful cook. Driving to Ajijic, and Jocotepec is worth the trip.

We liked Chapala.
We liked Chapala. In our opinion, it had a better feel than Ajijic, which we stayed in before and visited again this trip. There was a central market right across the road from our lodging and it was a convenient source of fresh fruit and veggies. There was also good fresh bread, cheese and a variety of meat. There were some good restaurants in town but the open air chicken & chips place (50m to the left after exiting the hotel) made us sick, so we couldn't recommend it.

The town of Chapala is a Mexican town not a touristy town like Ajijic. Chapala is laid back. More true Mexican than we expected. Everyone was friendly and we never felt afraid. It was great to watch the local Indian tribes perform since we were there during a Cultural Week. We had an Italian dinner at Romeo and Juiletta's, breakfast and cappuccino at the Paris Restaurant; every meal we had was great. Chapala is only 30 minutes from the Guadalajara airport and an hour or so from the town of Guadalajara. We really enjoyed our short time there and hope to go back soon for longer.

A friendly working Mexican town - fewer tourists.
A friendly working Mexican town - fewer tourists. Loved the bits of local artistry - the serpent painted steps are magnificent. Very affordable. Nice malecon where you can see the best sunsets on Lake Chapala.

The Malacon is the place to be.
The Malacon is the place to be. Everything that you need is there. We ate at the hotel we stayed in, but there are countless restaurants to enjoy on the malacon and also a short walk from there. Getting around: Once you arrive, walking is the best option, because everything is that close it makes so much sense.

I really liked the true Mexican atmosphere for Christmas Eve. Not at all touristy. Didn't see a single event that seemed designed for visitors. It was the "way it is" and visitors can join in. The market was great and I
had the traditional tamales and punch as I walked along the streets.
The cathedral was full, so I stood outside with others and joined in the hand shake during the service. All in all is was a great way to experience another culture for Navidad. Wish I could have stayed longer.
The location was perfect and very safe and walkable for our excursions. The room was perfectly clean and amenities suitable for our stay.
What can I say about the staff -they were all extremely helpful and friendly. I really appreciate that they arranged a ride for us to the airport with pick up at 5:15 AM.
The beds were very comfortable.
I will definitely stay there next time. I visit Chapala.
Location, staff, authentic cuisine and lovely courtyard where you could park your rental vehicle. We enjoyed breakfast with other guests at the common table where we could learn about each other. One must keep in mind you are visiting Mexico; they ‘make do’ so you need to be flexible in your expectations.
The location is perfect right on the lake and my ground floor lake view was ideal. First floor view would be even better. The villa has a classic luxury style and what you lose out on with some old fashioned facilities you make up for in classic charm. A unique place to stay where you will feel special.
Very convenient location for walking the Malecon, and close to good restaurants.
Bed was comfortable, shower was hot. And really appreciated the coffee maker (but I felt the need to wash it first).
Host was very attentive and helpful.
Very quiet, despite being on busy street.
For travellers by motorcycle you will enjoy the convenience of this hotel. It is directly across from the lake and a block from the main road through the town center, Park your bike, put away the gear and enjoy a short stroll to the local restaurants and along the Malecón.
Good place to stay in central Chapala. A little bit expensive (as for Mexican standards) but deserves its price. Very friendly and helpful owner. Fully equipped apartment with everything you need. Walking distance from harbour.
This was a “boutique” hotel but a little on the funky side. The breakfasts were great. The most outstanding thing about this hotel is the staff. Staff were incredible, super helpful, friendly and accommodating.
Facility is one of the nicer ones in Chapala. Beautiful grounds, centrally located, breakfast included (which I left too early for) and a very large hot tub (which I did not use).
I liked everything. The staff were fantastic and friendly. The hotel was extremely clean. We ate there too and the food, prepared by Cesar, was very nice.
