It was a large room with a little area off the bedroom with a table and two chairs. But that space had very poor lighting. The place was clean and had free parking on site. The owner was really nice and interested in talking to her guests and offering advice on where to go for food and sights etc.
I would give a rating of good+

Great location. You can rent bikes down the street for $6 USD/day and return them at 9 pm. Bicycles can get you to all the main sites without advanced skill, though 15 minute ride-segments to reach it all. We didn't use taxis except to the Bulguksa Buddhist temple about 20 minutes outside of town, definitely worth the trip. Room is clean, breakfast gives a variety of Korean & western options, coffee machine available 24 hours/day. Don't miss the local market (Jungang), with night food stalls from 6-11 pm. $9 buys you a plastic tray with 4 options from different stalls, amazing variety of Korean delicacies. Small rooms, no facilities, doesn't matter because it's a comfortable room to sleep and you'll be out on this UNESCO museum of a city all day anyway. We've been twice and checked out other comparable hotels, nothing came close. For the average tourist, two nights covers this city well, one night is not enough.

The check in was very easy and smooth, it was very nice that each room had its own parking spot. The room was clean and well ventilated, the shower was also nice with good stream of warm water. Everything we needed was in the room including a fridge.

Pretty town and worth seeing with wonderful restaurants but the burial mounds visit is a must. Very well organized with information centres.
The Hanok village is also interesting and has great restaurants.

I wish I had stayed at least another day to take in everything Gyeongju has to offer. Going with a guide who drove us around and knew all the ins and outs of restaurants and other places to visit was key to making our short visit so memorable.

In total spent around four days in Gyeongju and the surrounding area. The main part of the city is pretty typical of Korean cities. The main attractions are to the south. It is steeped in history and a great place to learn about Korean heritage. Tombs of former kings, partially recreated palaces, stunning bridges, fields of colourful flowers and some streets with fantastic restaurants and shops. Much of the historic area is laid out in beautifully maintained parks and gardens. A highlight and one of our favourite places on our 2.5 weeks trip to Korea. There are two national parks near by offering good walking opportunities. We undertook one short walk to Chilbul-am temple which was incredibly scenic.

A city with a rich history.
A city with a rich history. Lots of artifacts, museums, nature to enjoy. Very generous and comprehensive information from brochures can be easier found. Tourist information centers are really helpful places. The parks are really one of its kind....so beautiful and we'll thought out to make sure that all visitors can enjoy. Security is good in the touristy places.
Nice location in the local neighborhood with food and business less than a block away. Gyeongju sides also a short walk away. Definitely good choice for convenience. 2 bedroom home. 1 queen bed, 1 full, living room has a fold out futon sofa plus additional futon mats… each room with individual AC. No washer, but a clothes steamer type machine…. Excellent kitchen and terrace area.
Hello everyone, this is not my first visit to South Korea and I am always very happy about it, I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel on the shore of a magnificent lake, everything around the lake is surrounded by green trees, when the sakura blossoms and you see it, it’s just a DELIGHT! I recommend to everyone ! and definitely excursions, evening and daytime.
Nice hotel in the city center, virtually all attractions are within walking distance.
The rooms are quite big and it's quiet. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee places around. If you want a cheap dinner, visit the nearby market.
They have a place to store your bag if you're early, and there is a convenience store around the corner.
SiEunJae is super well-located, easy walking distance from the city centre, Donggung and the tombs areas. The futon mattress was comfy, the bathroom well-kept, the complimentary breakfast yummy and filling and the staff really lovely! We loved our stay - if we come back to Gyeongju, we will defintely stay at SiEunJae again!
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Korea in terms of value for money, comfort, after-sales service, and breakfast.
If you are going to Gyeongju for vacation or a conference and need a central location, comfortable rooms with top-notch facilities, and a moderate budget, go to the SUGAR hotel...
Everything about this property was great - staying in a traditional Korean hanok, its location in Gyeongju, the incredibly kind owners, the comfortable mattress on the floor and even the ondol heating was always on at the right times and always at a comfortable temperature (never too hot).
Nice hotel/hostel type accommodation with good location. Very near major attractions & bus stations. Single room is good size and comfy with good wifi. Quiet except for occasional road noise. Nice lounge area & simple fix your own bkfst. Good info from manager about places to visit.
Truly the perfect location and an incredibly aesthetic and comfortable place to stay. The amenities were top notch and the staff at the cafe were wonderful. The breakfast sandwiches were also delicious! I will definitely be returning to not only Gyeongju but StayAnGim as well ❤️
Great location in city center, walkable distance to all attractions. Hotel so very beautiful and stylish. Room was a bit small but very comfy, the interior designer did a great job with small details such as round window, lighting, kettle and other amenities.
Large comfortable room. Breakfast was not included but at just 3000 won it was excellent value. The basement area also had a small art gallery and was an attractive and relaxing environment for breakfast. Hotel was also in walking distance from attractions.
Really great option if you want to explore Gyeongju! The bus stop if you want to go to the Bulguksa temple is also nearby as well as bus terminals. We had everything we needed for our stay including eggs "for cook it yourself" breakfast! Highly recommended!
a family owned hotel, typically korean. Room and bath are very clean, the hanok is just in front of national museum (just cross the road), a 15 min walk from city center and all monuments, and near bus stop. And we were warmly welcomed !
Great location (the bus station to Singyeongju station and many tourist attractions is right next to the hotel, within 1 minute walk). We had a complimentary room upgrade. The room was spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff was friendly.
Really modern, clean place, perfectly placed for a walk around the ‘Tomb district’. Really recommend it as a base for some touring of Gyeongju. It has a nice common area to meet people and plan your day!
very affordable, super location, really easy check in, and has breakfast that opens early (which is uncommon here!!). definitely the best place to stay if you’re coming to Gyeongju
Authentic experience in South Korea - really liked the guesthouse with Kenti (the dog). Great location and friendly guests who were up for a chat. Comfy beds and clean facilities.
Perfect accommodation in Gyeongju!
Great location, close to all the major sights and to the bus station, super spacious room and bathroom, and very clean.
Great value for money.
Great location and less than 10 min walking to the express bus station, easy access to the main sights of Gyeongju. Room was nice and clean and has everything needed.
