Very clean and also in a fantastic location! The most important asset of the hotel is their team. They are very friendly, kind and always willing to help. Also they give spot on advice on what to do, where to eat etc. We would definitely come back.

We really liked it.
We really liked it. There was a fantastic ice cream place, Il Frigidarium, which had lovely flavours and great prices - coffee too. We only ate out once but that was very good - La Goletta - good food (fish!), friendly service, excellent value. We also found it very handy for public transport - the train to Genoa and the Cinque Terre and the boat to Portofino.
In the town there were good supermarkets and shops of all sorts.

Very under stated.
Very under stated. A perfect spot to visit Porto Fino and santa Margherita (use the bus or walk there instead of your car) and/or Cinque Terre (by train from Rapallo). Lots of good restaurants on the sea front to choose from and very nice views.

A perfect place to base a holiday.
A perfect place to base a holiday. Public transport was reliable easy and inexpensive. Also plenty to look at in the town. Good bars and restaurants. We attended a superb free concert in one of the churches. Easy access to railway and Genoa airport Look for the smaller restaurants. Plenty in the narrow medieval quarter.

The best place to stay in the Italian riviera.
The best place to stay in the Italian riviera. Lots of things to do, shops, cafes, reasonable prices, beaches, looks beautiful. Cable car to the top is highly recommended. Portofino is overhyped and very expensive. Cinqe Terre was so so. I was glad we stayed in Rapallo.

Rapallo is the perfect town to stay in!
Rapallo is the perfect town to stay in! It has everything you need without being overcrowded with tourists. We went in August which is the busiest time of year, so it was nice visiting and having a break being shoulder to shoulder with people like we had been on the rest of our Euro trip! Rapallo has a train station and ferry station and is in perfect proximity to attractions nearby. The boardwalk had great restaurant and cafe options too and is magical to walk around at night. If you're deciding between Cinque Terre and Rapallo, definitely stay in Rapallo and make day trips out to more busy places!

About the location of Hotel "Portofino Est Residence.Here...
About the location of Hotel "Portofino Est Residence. Here the courtyard and the fact that there is a sea view is ok.
But the interior leaves much to be desired. The furniture is uncomfortable (the old metal cots) that wobble with any movement, especially the bunk and rusty bed, there is an extendable sofa instead of a rather uncomfortable matrimonial bed.
When you open the door, you are hit by a musty, dirty, unventilated smell, an unkempt and dirty place.
Overall the exterior is ok but the interior is terrible.
About the commune itself Rapallo is a beautiful place. A fairytale commune where you can eat well, there are beaches and places where you can walk, a seafront with palm trees, a cute harbor with yachts, you can go nearby to Portofino, the super village and more expensive, but it's worth a visit there too.
Rapallo is a beautiful town!!!
The location of the hotel is excellent, just a five minutes walk from the Rapallo Train Station and the Ferries. The hotel is in a lively neighborhood with many restaurants, cafes and shops. We had a double room with sew view and a balcony. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel staff was the best. They were very helpful in suggesting activities and places to visit. They even checked train schedules for us. We absolutely enjoyed our four night stay at the hotel and especially loved walking and exploring the area around the hotel.
This is a gem.We really enjoyed our stay with Marina in her historic family villa. The house will take you back in time and the bedroom is huge. Our terrace faced south and had a sea-view. We felt so welcome and this property has a lovely ambience.Marina was always helpful and accommodating. She provides a very varied tasty breakfast which suits all tastes.
We loved her family home which is steeped in history.
After three nights in Villa Olimpo, Rapallo we felt relaxed and ready to continue our travels.
This is a superb hotel, from the welcome and free room upgrade to checkout it was a pleasure to stay
All the staff where so incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel facilities where excellent especially the outside area with its exceptional pool which is really big. We had booked a garden view room and requested a upgrade just before we arrived and that's exactly what we got, a sea view room with a view to die for... it made our stay even more special... Bravo Hotel Bristol R
The place has its spirit. My room was filled with light . I especially liked the bathroom , which has the touch of art deco. Comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast and tasty coffee. Great location and very picturesque way to the hotel from the station. The hotel has its small terrace to enjoy the beautiful Rapallo port from above.
Fantastic location overlooking Rapallo Bay....
Great family accommodation with separate bedroom for kids.
Hotel owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. Beautiful clean rooms and fabulous views from the balcony.
Lovely continental style breakfast.
Comfortable outside lounge out front to have a drink and people watch.
Very nice hotel with great location
Visit the skybar in the sunset!
Nice breakfast eith really good cappucino
Stayed in the area for 3 days. This area is much nicer than cinque terre! Walk to Portofino an take a boatride back
The walk along the coast in Rapallo is very nice both in the morning and in the afternoon
Hotel Portofino is a great value for money in the center of Rapallo. The staff was super helpful and friendly - we cours park the car in front of the hotel, where told where we could go and what sights to see etc! The room was cosy and we even got a little terrace we could use - thank you for that!
Nice staff and very good location in Rapallo. The Hotel is small and does not have facilities beyond rooms, breakfast etc. We had a small but nice room with sea view although we reserved a standard one, so good service and attention for the client. Bathroom has been recently renovated.
Hotel with great potential but the staff is lackadaisical. The breakfast was very good. The view spectacular and a good location since it is near but not in Portofino.
Rapallo is a great little town to explore and more authentic than Portofino which is overrun with tourists.
We had an excellent stay here. The view from our room was gorgeous. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our various needs and requests. The hotel was extraordinarily clean. All of this for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!
Guilio Cesare is an exceptional hotel - small, but clean and nicely equipped rooms, great location, nice staff and breakfast, very nice location outside of the crowds, but close to the center and the promenade, definitely a recommendation among Rapallo hotels.
The staff was exceptional. They all went above and beyond to be helpful and make recommendations. Hotel Astoria has the best breakfast we have experienced on our trip. The location is perfect on the waterfront.
This is a fair 3 star hotel (not 4) that has what you need to survive a night in the Italian riviera. It's very centrally located and easy to walk to from to explore Rapallo.
Location is excellent, easy walk to the ferry to Portofino. Hotel has two parking spaces which we were able to use. Hotel is old, has some beautiful furniture in the room.
Great location overlooking Rapallo with spectacular view. Very clean apartment with lots of amenities. Friendly host, easy to communicate with. Overall highly recommended!
Above all the staff! They were so friendly and helpful with every question we had. The hotel is clean. We loved being able to park our car right at the hotel.
