Heritage Hotel Park Hvar, hotel in Hvar

Location was amazing. Room was comfortable with a beautiful view of the harbor. Breakfast in the garden was tasty and relaxing. We went on the off-season so it was very quiet – which we also loved.

Lovely hotel, pool area is gorgeous and brilliant breakfasts in the morning! The location was brilliant, I’ve been to Hvar a few times but my first time staying here and would stay here from now on! Very nice mix of family and friends here as well. There are a few ways to access this hotel and can access by car from the harbour or a lovely walk but is very hilly

FAQs about hotels in Hvar

Echoes of the Age of Empires

Hvar is the largest city on the Croatian island of the same name within the Adriatic Sea. The wildly undulating coastline formed a natural harbour here, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the Venetians, who captured it as part of their empire. The Venetian Fortress sits atop a hill and 13th-century ramparts descend to the old town.

Another castle from Napoleonic times is on a different hill offering beautiful views over red roofs towards the offshore Pakleni islands sheltering the port. Ferries link Hvar to neighbouring Brač and Vis islands, Split and Ancona in Italy.

Given the size of the city, the amount of Hvar accommodation is staggering, and Booking.com offers everything from luxury hotels with pools to cheap guest houses and beachfront apartments. Although most beaches are rocky, their scenic setting and warm turquoise waters are still a draw.

At the heart of the city is the largest square in Dalmatia. Restaurants and bars spill out onto its cobbles, ending at St Stephen’s Cathedral with its see-through belltower. Around the same time the cathedral was going up, one of Europe’s oldest theatres was constructed in the waterfront Arsenal. The Loggia is the only remain of the Governor’s Palace, and the Hvar Heritage Museum helps to put all this in context.

    Beautiful old town.

Beautiful old town. Spectacular view of many surrounded island from the Napoleon trail. The city provided plenty of seating benches throughout the city and rural. I visited other towns in this island that have the same relaxing standards. Thanks to the Croatia government. However, October was not a good month to get access to island tours and most restaurants. I was told that April to September is when the businesses open fully.

I only went to the old town, arriving by ferry in the evening. Absolutely beautiful but even in October it was way, way over touristed. I decided to stop contributing to the problem myself by changing my plans and leaving early the next morning.

Hvar is incredibly charming and I wish we could have stayed a few more days. It's a high energy environment with young and older tourists alike, gorgeous historic spots like the Fort and really great shopping (dresses, jewelry, pretty handbags on trend all reasonably priced from a Boston perspective).

Hvar is for you if you love being near the water and sitting in the sunshine. Things i wish I’d taken, more cash, many places operate on a cash only basis and they cash machines charge up to €10 to withdraw from. The cheapest bakeries which are also delicious are near the bus station. Bring insect repellent and insect bite treatments and also bring your own sunscreen as it is incredibly expensive to purchase it on the island. Take shoes you can comfortably walk up and down stairs in and on cobbled streets. Best places to east for me were Kantun, Coffee snob, sweet treats bakery and Fig Hvar.

Hvar has the most beautiful water I have ever seen, if you take a trip with a taxi boat to one of the smaller island, you'll have a wonderful time. There's a nude beach where fortunately not a lot of people go to cause they're scared of nakedness. Its super party touristy in the main town. Rich british boys and old white men.. everything is super expensive. There's no buses driving around the island so you'll have to rent a scooter or walk a long distance.

A beautiful studio with kitchen and with view as the ads in the middle of the old town. The remaining room was spotless. The owner was very attentive. During the first arrival we used the path with a lot of steps. However, I easily found the alternative with much less steps. The hotel rate was fair near $200 EUR for 3 nights in the end of October and beautiful Hvar old town. I still loved the owner who provided the brand-new and modern condition room at their best.

Perfect location. so beautiful and relaxing. A relaxed 20 minute walk into Hvar Town. We stayed in the main hotel and the views were breathtaking. The room was lovely and it was beyond our expectations. The staff are amazing. Friendly, helpful and genuine. Private beach area is great (not sandy) with plenty of beds. The beach bar is superb and the spa pool is small but lovely and relaxing. So glad we stayed here but wish it could have been longer.

FANTASTIC! Location, location, location. We were in Hvar for the first time and it couldn't be better. From the first moment when we met a host who waited for us in the harbor and after a 2 min walk we’re inside of the museum!! This is a unique breathtaking place, not just a simple accommodation. Our apartment was on the second floor, a real small flat with anything you need to stay longer, modern kitchen, nice sofa.. but balcony was the best.

From our welcome with a nice bottle of wine, a delicious platter of sweet figs and a bowl of various other fruits, to the high end finishes and every foreseeable need met, The Renaissance is hands down the best short term rental we've ever enjoyed. It was simply amazing. The view onto the ocean and town of Hvar was like a moving portrait. The unit is cozy, airy, and very welcoming. The location was tops.

Have stayed before in another apt of the same owner, it was my first stay in Villa Maria Paula and I will be back for sure! One of the best location you can get while staying in Hvar. Restaurants and main square are literally less then a minute walk away. Antonia and Maria were really really nice, helpful and kind. Comfortable room, very clean and nicely furnished.

My wife and I were honeymooning in Europe for 2 weeks, out of our 3 destinations (Santorini, Sorrento and Croatia) this was the best hotel we stayed in (and we stayed in several 5 star hotels). Hvar itself is a dream destination, but the hotel single handedly made the experience go from great to fantastic.
