The local area is good for restaurants, vineyards, activities like boat trips and horse riding. There are some interesting historical sites (castle and bronze age settlement) close by. I really wish we could have stayed for longer than a week to see more of the locality. The bus can be a bit hit and miss, but a really cheap way to access the north of the island, Fira and Oia.

Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village.
Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village. Loved the Venetian castle which has coffee and food. You must visit the ancient city. The locals over all were very friendly and helpful. Please note-there are a lot of homeless animals. Be prepared for it.

The town itself only 5 minutes walk and has a range of very good restaurants.
Nice quiet town, good bus service to Fira and very reasonable cost of fare.
Would highly recommend Akrotiri as a resort to stay.

Akrotiri is a small place in the southern part of the island of Santorini, from which one can see the caldera and also experience beautiful sunsets. There is a small supermarket and a clothing store as well as restaurants and an art shop there. Also important are the Akrotiri Castle and the proximity to the Red Beach and the archaeological site, which can be reached on foot. There are also horses nearby that you can ride to the beach. Megalochori, a small beautiful village nearby, can be reached by bus to Fira. An ideal place to enjoy the sun in the south and to do tours of the island from there.

This area of Santorini was just perfect for us.
This area of Santorini was just perfect for us. Memorable views, from the caldera to the sunset, Oia & Fira in the distance.
The archeological site and the Lost Atlantis museum are very close for a jump into myth and real history of the island. The best beaches for snorkling are in this southern coast, between Vlichada and the Lighthouse. Many family run restaurants, super markets and amenities are at reach. And the Horst Riding experience with a wild gallop on the eros beacj is roght there .. strongly recommended.

I liked the fact it was close to facilities which l forgot to mention before! Supermarket, restaurants, (loved Porto Bello restaurant), cafes & chemist etc! Also car hire available! All short walk away!
Enjoyed a trip to the ancient archeological site & the museum of The Lost City of Atlantis! Also Red beach & Caldera! Lovely catamaran boat cruise round island with bbq & wine although l ghoughg bit pricey.
My husband and I stayed at the White curves for our honeymoon and we could not have been happier. From the moment we got there, we felt welcomed. Breakfast served in front of our room with sea view. The home keeper was extremely nice and went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. We were welcomed with wine and a beautiful view. The room is spectacular. Clean and very well equipped. Lots of good recommendations were given to us. If you are going to Santorini, I 100% recommend satins at the White curves. You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you for an amazing stay!! Special thanks to Theodosia and Dorothea who worked tirelessly to make sure our every request was met quickly - they literally helped build our vacation in Santorini and made everything easy and simple for us. The room is spacious with an enormous outside area overlooking the most magnificent view of the caldera, as private as one could expect. Very quiet and relaxing, we were really able to disconnect. Lastly, the food of both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Overall - a wonderful vacation!
We especially loved the private pool with the amazing view of the Caldera. Also the breakfast (extraordinary food, always fresh) that was served right to the doorstep of your room was a unique way to start the day. The location of the hotel was perfect, walk-distance of Akrotiri which is a small but cozy place, where you don’t have the mass tourism. I would say it is the ideal spot for people who enjoy a relaxing stay and still want to enjoy all the beautiful things the island of Santorini has to offer.
We loved the villa's quieter location in Santorini along with its multiple decks (especially the rooftop). From our villa, we could easily walk to Akrotiri archaeological site, restaurants, grocery store, and beach. Our host, Amani, was very pleasant and she provided us with many helpful suggestions for food, wines and a must see Symposium visit in Megalochori. The villa's kitchen and living areas provided wonderful gathering spots for our family. We wished we could have stayed longer than our 6 nights!
Unexpectedly, this was the best stay in Santorini so far. The hotel is very quiet ( in October), it is located in a beautiful seaside, far away from the main cities. There is an archaeological site and museum 2mins away, and it takes 18 mins walking to the red beach. A perfect place to relax and get away from the turistified cities. There are very good family run restaurants near by too, and the breakfast in the hotel is absolutely fantastic with a view over the sea. Very nice hosts too.
Akrotiri is a small village, not crowded and it is on a beautiful part of Santorini. The apartment‘s building situated in the centre. The design of the object is impressive, modern and Greek. congratulation to the designer! The apartment is extremely well equipped, very comfortable. The breakfasts are varied and abundant. Having breakfast on the terrace with fabulous view is makes the guests the king of life. The staff is very professional and still nice.
Delightful- I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The hotel staff are like a family and they welcome you in with open arms. they go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable, including transfers around the island, incredible breakfasts and good conversation. the views are astounding. I really enjoyed staying away from the touristy areas on Santorini. the hotel and local area are peaceful and tranquil.
Best boutique hotel amazing energy, amazing view, very quiet. To me one of top hotel I have stayed in. The rooms are beautifully designed Greek style, the rooms have a private balcony. The pool is gorgeous and quite big. The owners are incredibly sweet. They make the best Greek pancakes. I highly recommend that place, to me top location in Santorini with car away from show off Oia.
The place itself is stunning inside, you feel at home. And outside you feel like a local Greek, as the place is located in the middle of a narrow street. We LOVED it, it was an
amazing experience for my kids as well! It's very easy to access the principal streets that bring you to the best beaches of the south of Santorini, like Kamari, Perissa and Perivolos, our favourite ones.
Excellent hotel with Santorini Caldera View. Very responsive staff who attended our every need and made us feel at home. Arranged transportation and tours for us. Very clean and comfortable pool to cool off in. Huge delicious breakfast with a variety of foods to meet everyone’s dietary needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend.
Brand new hotel, located on the peaceful area of Akrotiri, away from the crowds. Exceptional service and staff, amazing room with caldera views, and great value for money. I have stayed in several hotels in different areas around Santorini, and I need to say that this one was by far the best experience!! Highly recommended to everyone 👍 👌 👏
This is an amazing location! You’re right on the beach and the cave itself is super comfortable. We slept so well in the cool darkness. And we loved sitting on our patio. It is an extremely unique property with a ton of interesting history. And it is far away from the tourist crowds, but close enough to drive to all Santorini has to offer.
The view from the hotel is impeccable. Right across the property you can see the caldera, the new volcano and the towns of Fira and Oia. It is a great place to see the whole of Santorini and it is close to the Lighthouse, the Red Beach and the centre of Akrotiri.
Also, the staff is very friendly and breakfast was very tasty every day.
Perfect place to stay away from the crowds of Santorini town. Bus stopped right outside the hotel so very convenient. A few restaurants up the road we’re very convenient. Good breakfast. Room was small but we weren’t in it much. We looked out over the pool. Little bar and cafe in the pool area. The owner was very helpful.
Absolutely stunning! If you don't prefer the chaos and expense of Fira or Oia, Villa Maria in Akrotiri is perfect! The view is amazing and the swimming pool is lovely! Our hosts were so nice, and breakfast is a highlight! Our room felt exactly like one would want in Santorini. It was so romantic. Thanks for everything!
The views from the hotel are spectacular. No words can describe it! The staff was very polite and friendly. Food was good, no complains. The room was cleaned every day, and fresh towels were provided. We did enjoy our stay at Kalestesia Suites Santorini.
the view is the best in all SANTORINI.
a little bit windy because of the location
best hotel staff I’ve ever Been at, so helpful and booked all the activities for us
a lot prettier than the pictures
We had the pleasure to be upgraded. The flat was very clean. Stunning view! Nice staff.
The hotel is located in a place with a lot of buildings under construction (santorini fame).
The hotel was a true wonder. The staff is welcoming and ready to help. We ended our ten days trip to Greece with 3 days in Santorini and our hotel was the perfect end of it.
I really liked the cave room and balcony, I definitely felt the Santorini charm. Overall the stay was very pleasant. the host was also very informative and attentive.
