Location was lovely as were gardens
Food was excellent but served in shifts eg toast was ordered but came after breakfast after reminders. Probably due to shortage of staff as only 2 in dining area one was doubling up on reception and other seemed inexperienced.
Decor was a bit tired and bathroom could do with updating. Mould around bath didn't help.
Didn't live up to reviews on site.

We booked last minute for a nearby wedding. We would be coming in late and were told how to get in and that we could help ourselves to milk from the fridges downstairs etc. It was a nice welcome :)

Lovely pub/inn inside and out, Staff are very friendly and professional. Food, although pricey, is absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. As an ale lover, Timothy Taylor Landlord was perfect, better than they serve it down where I live in the midlands.
Room was spacious, nicely presented, clean and tidy.

Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales.
Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales. It is an Ideal base for country walks and mountain walks. You can easily access the remote areas of the dales where you would not see another person all day long. I might regret having said that

Lovely place in the middle of the countryside about 20 miles due East(ish) of Lancaster. Small, quite sleepy village about 1 mile from the station which provides connections to Lancaster and Leeds (and more places I'm sure!). Safe and friendly with nice river flowing through it.

Clapham is a beautiful village. We went beginning of July.
Clapham is a beautiful village. We went beginning of July. It was so quiet. I suspect in high tourist season it can be busy but during our stay Covid restrictions were still in place so no oversees visitors. Clapham has no nightlife so if that's what you want this us not the place to stay. If you want an evening stroll in a pretty little village this is beautiful place.
Clapham is the entry point to the Farrer trail that takes you to Ingleborough cave and beyond - beautiful!

Clapham is a very interesting, beautiful village on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Lots to see in the village, but Covid restrictions meant some of the little cafes and shops were closed. Lots of old buildings to admire and the village 'improvements' made by the Farrer family are worth investigating.
Lovely little hotel, great location for visiting the Dales. Nice local walks, good road links.
Very welcoming staff. Cosy room, comfortable bed, quality towels & bed linen. Powerful shower and well stocked hospitality tray.
Hearty pub food and well stocked bar. Good atmosphere and great service from all the staff.
There was even a cosy peaceful sitting area on the first floor with a library, great idea for quiet time.
Great value for money, would certainly recommend and return.
I received a really warm welcome upon arrival. The room was spacious with everything you would need. great food and good selection of beers and wine. The staff couldn't do enough for us and went out of their way to accommodate our late booking for dinner for 9 people so thank you to you all. We were walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks and this hotel is a great location only 15 minutes drive to the start.
The hotel is lovely and set in a gorgeous village location next to a river. We had 2 teenagers and a dog and everyone was catered for. Really friendly staff, very helpful. Food was amazing and breakfast cooked to order. Just at the end of the village is Ingleborough nature walk and cave so spent the day exploring and visited the mill cafe for lunch. We will definitely be back.

Breakfast serving staff were lovely and friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious.
Room was warm as was the bathroom. Shower was lovely and powerful. We enjoyed our stay but just a bit disappointed that this hotel could be so much better and more ambient. Check-in and check out staff were great.
Lovely old house with pretty rooms and elegant lounge. Clapham village was an unexpected joy with a riverside walk and a beautiful country park within walking distance.
Very good pub in the Yorkshire Dales. Clapham is an excellent place to stay if you want to get out into the countryside. Food good and staff were very welcoming.
