Cairnryan Bed and Breakfast, hotel in Cairnryan

This 4 Star Visit Scotland bed and breakfast is a 2-minute drive from ferry ports with crossings to Belfast, Larne and Cairnryan. Free parking and complimentary Wi-Fi is available at this property.

One of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in. So many lovely personal touches, from the make up removing cloth to the carafe of sherry in the room. All spotless and extremely comfortable. Perfectly located for the Irish ferry and with lovely views across the loch. And a delicious breakfast to send us off content.

Rhins of Galloway, hotel in Cairnryan

Rhins of Galloway offers high-quality accommodation in a garden setting overlooking Loch Ryan. It is situated between the ports of Stranraer and Cairnryan, and offers free on-site parking.

Paul & John are lovely hosts, we chatted to them for a while, the night we checked in. It was the little extras that made it. A little pair of scissors in with the coffee & tea sachets. Little socket cubes on each bedside cabinet, with usb sockets.

Homey, friendly and immaculately clean accommodations. Pat was so helpful. The driveway is a bit hard to see on the way by but the place is scenic and convenient for leaving on the ferry. Ate a great meal at the Custom House pub.

The location is great, especially for access to the ferry ports. We visited Logan Botanic Gardens, Glenwhan Gardens and Castle Kennedy which are all within a short drive from Cairnryan. We had a lovely meal at Henry's Bay House restaurant in Stranraer. Also had a nice snack from Subway in Stranraer and delicious soup with home made bread at Glenwhan Gardens. Would avoid trying to find somewhere to eat in Stranraer town as there are few restaurants that looked appealing.

It was where we caught the ferry to Ireland and if ever going again I would definitely use Cairnryan. We used a restaurant by the name of Henry’s Bay 10 mins away and it was very nice would recommend they did a teatime special that was excellent value for money and the staff were very attentive. The route to Ayr from Cairmryan has a beautiful coast way and well worth a drive to. There were some breathtaking views.

Cairnryan sits on the side of Loch Ryan and is therefore one sided. The village is 10-15 minutes from Stranraer which has plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants. As a touring base or a stopover for the ferry Cairnryan is ideal but if you want nightlife that’s out. We ate in Henry’s Bay House Restaurant which is very good. As for activities for young couples my wife and I are 73 and 70 years young so no advice on that. On the other side of the loch there are quite a few nice beaches within a 12 mile drive but take a picnic. As stated above touring is ideal. Portpatrick and the Mull of Galloway are well worth a visit in fine weather, as are Castle Kennedy and Logan gardens. The picture is taken from Cairnryan Bed and Breakfast.

The whole experience was made easy by the friendliness of all. The only problem I had was it was too short. I would have liked to have been able to stay for a few days. But was unable to do so because of the nature of my travel reason.

This is an excellent guesthouse. I couldn’t fault it in any way. The owner, Pat, could not have been more helpful with organising a booking for dinner and directing me how to get there. I believe this is presently the only B&B in Cairnryan, which is the closest village to where Stena operates its ferries to Belfast. The Stena terminal is less than 5 minutes away (which was relevant to me because I was travelling to Belfast).

Incredibly large room with true American king-sized bed. Living area and soaking tub in our suite with TV above the soaking tub. We had very early departure for a ferry and our to-go breakfast was at our door when we were ready to leave. Ferry is less than 5 mins from the property. Host was helpful and accommodating to help us with local resources.

There was a friendly welcome. The room was spacious and had sofa seats for watching TV. Bottled water was provided, so were chocolates, biscuits and a good range of hot drinks including a nice coffee machine. The proprietors were thoughtful & there was great attention to detail. The hotel is close to the Cairnryan ferry port.

Very welcoming and helpful host. Excellent communications and additional support for my husband who, unexpectedly, had to travel solo. He thoroughly enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast and ‘Bill’s homemade chutney’. Very convenient for ferry terminal and good parking for vehicle and sheep trailer.
