My friend and I loved staying with Barry and Ann. Such an interesting, warm and hospitable couple who were the perfect hosts. Clean, inviting and very comfortable, we slept better than we do at home. Breakfast was amazing and the best cooked breakfast I’ve ever had at a B and B. My friend and I wished we could have stayed longer. Perfect stay in a beautiful home within a beautiful setting. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning.

A gem of a pub, with good food, spotlessly clean rooms and very comfortable. The history of Alf White (the real James Herriot) the letter and the entry in the register from the 1940s (along with Greta Garbo!) was fascinating.
Our thanks to Emily & Claire (owners) and in particular, Freya - a diamond of a girl, happy, intuitive and happy to help whenever she saw a need. Hang on to this one girls!
The area is a walkers paradise. A fabulous weekend

The hotel was comfortable and homely & within easy walking distance of The Falls, the reason we chose it. The staff, particularly the afternoon/ evening ones, were very friendly and helpful. We were able to book our preferred seats for our evening meal. Lots of choices on the evening menu, all very generous portions. Easy distance form falls and great walking around the falls and Castle Bolton Beautiful view of Dales Need to get rid of the confusing St George Inn sign (Thorely)- closed for past 4 years and wewnt there by mistake instead of St George and the Dragon ( nice and helpful Pub for eating ).

Our visit was really spoilt by the weather. Howling gales and driving rain. This was at the beginning of October. In better weather this would be a great place to stay. Aysgarth Falls hotel was a good choice for our northern dales trip. Be warned that if you want to see the famous Aysgarth Falls then it is a steep walk down the road from the hotel. Might be better for the less mobile to drive to the Dales National Park centre and walk from there.

Breakfast was a delight - table service, home cooked English/Yorkshire breakfast to your taste, and continental also available. The hosts also had cute pet chickens, and a lovely garden :) The property is literally short walk away from Aysgarth falls. There are very few restaurants/pubs nearby the property so make sure you book early.

Nice quiet village location. The rear garden is enclosed and great for dogs as well as being a fantastic sun trap to enjoy a glass of wine in at the end of a hard day's walking! We thought it was great value for money and we'd highly recommend it, I don't think the pictures do the property justice!
