The location was brilliant. The breakfast was very good. The service of the hotel was very good and the staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean, it could do with updating with the decorating but that's the only negative thing. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back next year.

About a mile from the National Trust car park at the top of Alderley Edge, where there are some delightful walks, and only short walk from the town centre, the hotel as beautifully presented and convenient. The decor is well considered and the staff very accommodating and friendly. Rooms are described as 'quirky,' which they are. they have everything required, but might be a little small for some. The restaurant and wine list are excellent.
The Merlin, an elegant 19th-century inn, is located just 500 metres from the independent shops and restaurants in affluent Alderley Edge’s village centre.

Absolutely stunning place, crafted by the host Ian, with an absolutely unique atmosphere and seemingly frozen in time. The 19th-century ambiance and every detail are steeped in history and the soul of its creator.

I very much enjoyed my stay at The Tytherington. The location itself is a major win. Conveniently located so that you can easily commute to Macclesfield, Manchester etc. After that the rooms and facilities are nicely maintained. I did use the gym as well, which had good equipment. Breakfast was definitely good value for money. But more importantly the staff were courteous and helpful.
Offering access to all 3 of Manchester Airport’s terminals via the Skylink walkway, this stylish hotel offers chic rooms, free WiFi, and health club with a pool.
The whole area is good. It is safe. There are plenty of shops, cafés and other places to eat. Lovely countryside close by an easy to get into the city for more things to do. There are several stately homes and National Trust properties close by.

Fascinating people/vehicle watching from the excellent vantage point of the De Trafford Arms beer garden with a pint, so many ridiculously expensive/excessive cars posing around repeatedly burning unnecessary fuel. How the other half who are clearly far too rich to care about the planet live?!
Flip side…great charity shops! 😂

Staff were excellent in the bar/restaurant area, the bar/restaurant area was trimmed nicely for the Christmas period and does have a very welcoming and warm feel to it. Drinks are a bit pricy though.
The Location - Great location for bars, restaurants and the retail facilities in Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Town.
The room - Decorated to a modern style but there were some damage to painted areas which just need a touch up. The main let down was we found someone else's boxer shorts in the bin in the en-suite, toe nail clipping on the floor in the en-suite and the door to the en-suite very noisy. These are simple things that should not be seen by the 'next guest' in to a room that should be cleaned properly between guests staying.
However, we would stay again as I'd expect the owners to act on these issues if they read these reviews.

Alderley Edge is a very affluent part of cheshire known as part of the golden triangle or Wilmsow, Alderley Edge and Prestbury. Lots of footballers and famous people live here so can be seen in and around the local bars and restaurants. If you like car spotting come here as Lambo's and Ferraris are ten a penny along with every Chelsea tractor known to man. Lovely people and a great laid back vibe and must visit as well as a walk up to Edge with stunning views over the Cheshire downs.

Alderley Edge is a great place to stay for the weekend.
Alderley Edge is a great place to stay for the weekend. Cafes and restaurants are good and close to each other. It is also good base if you want to walk around the local countryside and if you want to go further afield there is a station nearby that stops at other towns and Manchester.
We were only in the room for a quick sleep and shower before flying out of Manchester, but the room was sweet, and the host was incredibly kind and communicative. It was close to the train station, making easy transport to the Manchester airport. The neighborhood was beautiful, and many cute little coffee shops were open early so we could get a good meal in before our fight. This room is not in Manchester proper. It was easy to navigate on the trains, but keeping the train schedule in mind is essential.
Friendly check in, plenty of parking, central location in Alderley Edge close to restaurants. Unfortunately Chef and Brewer restaurant downstairs was closed but we nipped to Tesco for a meal deal - after a busy day at Alton Towers we were pooped anyway. Five min walk to Tesco express and big Waitrose. Room was very clean. Fan included for a warm night. Plentiful and tasty breakfast served in the morning. Great value for money.
The breakfast was excellent and there was lots of continental and hot options. I normally find hotel breakfasts can be dingey but the Alderley Edge Hotel was wonderful. The room was bright and gorgeously decorated also. Hotel room refurbs are lovely and the rooms are a great size. Staff are super helpful. They even accommodated a ‘happy birthday’ request for my mum with a few treats and confetti style pieces on the bed.
Beautiful and historic old building , incredibly well restored and maintained - rooms are large and incredibly comfortable - great mix of the traditional and new with all the facilities you'd need in room - very short walk from the village where there any number of places to eat & drink , a short walk from the countryside. Excellent value , very attentive host
Obvious was perfect. Room was perfectly sufficient with excellent desk and television. The location of the hotel was ideal for my business in Alderley edge. The dinner I had was first class with an excellent menu and good value wine. I didn’t have breakfast because I went out to meet someone elsewhere
This place is a little gem hidden away just of London Road in Alderley edge. It's a stones throw away from bars, restaurants and coffee shops so plenty to do. Parking is available too which where it is located is amazing really as property and space is at a premium. Great location.
The room was lovely, we rang ahead to ask for a cot and for the second bed to be made, so everything was ready for our arrival. Overall a nice hotel and great location to explore Alderley Edge and Cheshire. I'm sure we will stay again.
It was very clean and comfy. Right where I needed to be. All cafes and restaurant are just a minute or so walk. Owner was very helpful with information on how to get in, calling for taxi when I needed, advice on place to eat etc.
The hotel was in a good location and has a bar and restaurant on site check in was smooth and easy all the staff were friendly and helpful the breakfast was nice and the food in the restaurant was good
I'd rathet you ask me about Booking.com's service which has been off the scale appealing. You cancelling the wrong room and ignored my instruction. Thankfully the hotel saved your bacon
The location is excellent, the staff where amazing particularly paid attention to my elderly Mum.
Food was great breakfast hectic but the staff continued to smile & remain helpful.
Wonderful, friendly staff make you feel right at home. Food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. It’s modern decor in the restaurant & lounge is very appealing.
