The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes.
Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls, about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

We used Lugo as a base to visit Santiago and La Curuna.
We used Lugo as a base to visit Santiago and La Curuna. I'm in a wheelchair, so changing hotels constantly is a chore for my partner. We visited Lugo itself on our last day and were pleasantly surprised by its charm, impressive walls and other medieval corners.
Kitchen was not well equipped. Plastic dishes, no silverware, no knives, no pots or pans despite the fact that there were two portable burners. The refrigerator was passable, but not really cold enough to keep milk, etc. The room was okay; tidy, beds were decent, shared bathroom was clean (enough). Internet in the rooms hardly worked. Good things: location was great, side street might have been quiet but we were in Lugo during a noisy festival. Nothing Shiku could do about that.
After 10 days of sleeping in albergues, this is a definite treat you should indulge in. It is right next to the main plaza, and they have an amazing rooftop restaurant for your meals. The breakfast is well worth the cost - especially as you’re heading back on the Camino. We loved this place so much we decided to take a day off from walking and spend it in Lugo. The late checkout was phenomenal. It’s very clean, well appointed, and the staff speak great English.
Modern hotel with swimming pool, gym and nice facilities. It is outside the city which it was ok with us. We had a car to drive into the city. We enjoyed the spacious rooms and the air conditioning. My grandsons loved the pool and gym. The staff was helpful. They had a breakfast buffet which we didn’t go. Also a cafeteria where we had breakfast. Great value for the price. I would go again.
Lovely, modern stylish apartment. Very nicely furnished and well equipped for a relaxing stay. Some very nice touches with coffee and cake as a welcome gift. The host, Cristina was very responsive and herlpful and answered our questions straight away. Lugo is a great city to visit with it's complete Roman walls and historic centre within. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Very nice boutique hotel. The front desk person was very charming and helped me with some issues because I arrived with a head cold. Also needed some directions. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable and there was a small desk. The shower in the bedroom was unbelievable as it was like a spa shower with multiple streams of water. That was the best part of the room.
Very spacious room, with a sofa and very big bed. Bathroom with a bath, as we wanted. A short distance from the city walls. A very nice breakfast, with multiple options, taste of local cuisine. Very helpful staff members. Important hint - as most of the hotels in the area, kitchen closes for the afternoon and reopens at 8pm, so you need to plan your meals in advance.
The hotel is a short walk to the old city and also the bus station is nearby. The staff is very professional and helpful with answering questions about restaurants and things to do. The rooms are clean, have modern furniture, and the Wi-Fi signal is strong. Our room was well insulated as it was very quite in the evening and in the morning.
Inside the Roman walls and we could see the cathedral out of the window! Fabulous location, very comfortable and clean. We took a rest day from walking the Camino in Lugo. This was the perfect spot! Full kitchen, washer and groceries around the corner. Everything we needed.
The hotel is situated in a very small village outside of Lugo. Great surroundings and beautiful interior. Felt really safe, when we went to Lugo we didn't even lock our room. It's important to have a car since Lugo isn't that close and there's a free parking space
The host was super!!! Very attentive, perfect sense of humour and a lot of help with finding the best spots in Lugo. Also the room and everything was very good, not too big but tidy and with the view of ancient city wall through the window. 😊👍👍👍
It's right in the heart of Lugo centre which is ideal if you're looking for a central location. It's on a street with a lot of bars and restaurants so you don't have to wander far for food or drinks.
Great new modern appartment in the centre of Lugo. Only 5 minutes walk to shops, restaurants, parking and old buildings. The best place to stay in Lugo
