The beds are OK, the bathroom is also OK. The price of the salad bar in the evening was also OK. Location of the hotel very good at the entrance of Monschau.

This hotel is situated south of of the old imperial town of Aachen and on the edge of the Medieval town of Monschau. For active people and nature lovers, the surroundings have lots to offer.

Very clean, close to Monschau, very good breakfast
Monschau is a hidden gem with lots of character. It is a very historic place with artistic connections too. It is easy to walk round but possibly not if you have mobility issues. Everything is very close and the place we ate was outstanding.

Perfect location if you like hiking, woods, rivers and easy mountains. Liked it a lot. Small cute touristic town, almost a village. And a lot of nature around. Even if you came without a car but you love walking - would be nice place for you. There seems not so much to do in the town other than eating and drinking but this was what we needed.

Monschau is a very pretty tourist-centric village.
Monschau is a very pretty tourist-centric village. Lots of hotels, holiday homes, restaurants and cafes. People are very friendly. Parking can be difficult altho there is a parking lot at each end of the village - do use them as parking in the middle is limited.
It has a lovely Christmas Market .
Monschau is also very convenient for visiting Aachen.
The Eifel is also a great area to walk or cycle and there is plenty to keep adults and children busy in the open air!

Visiting for Christmas Market. Aware only on at weekends.
Visiting for Christmas Market. Aware only on at weekends. We have visited several times over 20 years ago.Town not so decorated eg houses etc compared to few years ago. No longer small supermarket nor chemist, less stalls. Market did not seem as busy . The “passion play” held outside involving the children also no longer. Is this just a sign of the times following Covid? / rise in cost of living. However, we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Just two of us now. Also enjoyed the snow, made town and surrounding area very festive.

We were on holidays in a group of 4 friends with our dog, Ladrador size. I mention having our dog with us as it impacts what you do. We did not visit inside buildings however walking around Monschau we could enjoy the magical atmosphere and colours of the buildings. People were friendly, terraces were heated and lovely. We ate out twice, together with our dog and had lovely well priced meals and found the staff to be very friendly.
The location is great indeed, right in the city center and it has an amazing view on the river. But if you are coming by car like us, then you need to leave the car at the parking and then walk around 10 minutes to get to the hotel, which is not a big deal at all, but the parking in this city is a big deal, just be aware. The apartment was super big and spacious. It was very warm inside which was nice. The keys are easily to be picked up downstairs at the restaurant.
The accommodation was just overall perfect for our vacation to see the local Eifel area including Aachen and Cologne, as well as spending time with family and friends who live nearby.
The host was in contact with my parents (who had organised the place on our behalf) and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. It was very private, relaxing, clean and newly renovated. We would definitely stay again in the near future.
Great location. Right in the center of town. As another reviewer described, “bags of character”. That’s a good thing. Jimmy runs the hotel. He’s great. Really adds to the whole experience. Our room was very clean. Very comfortable. We slept great. The breakfast was fantastic. On a 10 day trip, the Burghotel was easily the best value of anywhere we stayed. I’d happily stay there again.
Great location, short walk from Monschau old town. Numerous great hiking routes nearby. The appartment itself was spacious and very quiet. Everything was very clean, well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The host welcomed us upon arrival and was very friendly and helpfull. Supermarket and shops within 5 minute car drive. We really recommend this place!
Building, entrance, rooms , facilities ware in the architecture picture of the village Monschau, on the small river and small garden perfect for spending refreshing weekend out of big cities. It fully fulfilled our expectations, spending quite night in wonderful Monchau.
Excellent location, near the historic city center, big size appartment in a historic building. Parking place not far away, fully equipped kitchen. Perfect for families up to 4 kids. We've spent a fabulous weekend enjoying Monschau's extraordinary Halloween festival.
A big room consistent with the description. A very nice dining room where the breakfast was served by their friendly staff. Easy to find a parking place just opposite the hotel. This villa is located close to the city center which you can reach by 5 min. walk.
Lovely old fashioned hotel perched on the side of the hilly village of Monschau , very close to the centre, lovely friendly welcome, very very good breakfast in the morning. It’s a little like a fairy tale building , beautiful.
Quaint 4-story home in the heart of Monschau, across Hotel Horchem, fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The terrace was a nice surprise with a great view of the Burg. Comfortable beds and furnishings.
Excellent location, just a couple of minutes (on foot) from the center of Monschau and the municipal car park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and rather comfortable overall.
Location
View from the window was nice
Price was lower compared to other hotels in Monschau
For someone who is gonna be hiking all day and just sleeping in hotel it will be a good option
The beds are OK, the bathroom is also OK. The price of the salad bar in the evening was also OK. Location of the hotel very good at the entrance of Monschau.
I have been visiting the hotel since 2014 for my summer motorcycle trips to Germany, this is the best hotel, I stay here on average 6 weeks every summer.
