Take the cable cart to the top of the hill - St.
Take the cable cart to the top of the hill - St. Salvatore and if you have good weather - there awaits you and this is not an exaggeration by any means - one of the most amazing views I have ever seen in my life. Also we took a boat ride along the lake, which without any discount is about 40CHF for 2 hours ride, which is also very nice. There is a half tax discount if you have it for Switzerland. 2 nights would have been sufficient for us.
2 nights would have been sufficient for us. We took a day trip to Bellinzona and visited most of the popular attractions and had time to spare. We are not shoppers or people who like to hang out next to a pool and relax. If you are that type of person, the lake is beautiful and the shopping options are abundant.

Lugano is an exceptional peaceful small city where you can enjoy the best views of the lake. Much better place to be compared to Como the busy crowded city. We totally loved this city and all the things that offers from good food and pleasant historic buildings as well as friendly people.

Everything within walking distance or short bus/train/funicular away. Great beach, amazing scenery. Lots of great restaurants. So Many points of interest to see, we unfortunately didn’t have time to do it all, but we enjoyed taking the funicular to Monte Bre, boat excursion to Melide, train to Bellizone to see the castles… Guess we’ll need to come back to see the rest!StaceyCanada

Even if I can't operate the Nespresso machine), I enjoyed my 1 night stay at the Novotel. And BIG applause go to the breakfast itself and the breakfast area. The variety of products you would expect only from 5-star hotels, wide area. Very easy access from the central station to the hotel and from the hotel to the city centre. I will definitely choose Novotel for my next trip to Lugano. Maybe even just for breakfast :)

The hotel is in front of the train station that can take you to lots of places, and the hotel gave us a code that let us use the train and ferry for free to go any were in Switzerland. I didn’t realise that Switzerland had different plug adapters compared to other EU countries. We searched Lugano for over 2 hours looking for one and had no luck, a really nice girl (with glasses) can’t remember her namewho was serving the breakfast in the hotel gave me her charger and allowed me to keep it for the duration of my stay.
