We enjoyed our stay in Salina also thanks to the great restaurant and boat rental tips which we received from Paolo, the owner. In the end Paolo really impressed us by going well beyond the expected and helping us out with a ferry booking which caused problems by accompanying us to the harbor and making sure we got on the boat and all worked out well.

The house is conveniently located just a short walk from Malfa town center and Punta Scaria beach, if you take a shortcut with a trail through some grapevines. I relied on the bus, which was actually quite timely, but only runs hourly, so I recommend renting at least a scooter. My room had a spectacular view and was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Massimiliano was a wonderful host and invited me a delicious seafood dinner at a friend's home. What a special treat -- it was so delicious!!

Mariella and Carlos are friendly and obliging hosts and their home is an historic house with a special history and unique charm that's been in the family for generations. It was a pleasure to meet them. Leni is a little village and one gets to know the locals a bit in a short time. I ate at a new little kitchen close by run by Enzo and it was homely and delicious. The local wines are wonderful and the capers and lemons! There are some lovely walks nearby. I would love to stay longer.
