The house was utterly charming and very comfortable. We were traveling as a couple but are thinking of coming back with our daughter for more hiking. The street it is on is largely pedestrianized. This means we had to park at the end of the street and walk in, but there was plenty of parking so that wasn’t a big deal.
The photos on Booking accurately represent the property. I saw other photos on Google that were not actually of this property.

The house is simple and functional but the location is unbeatable: extremely close to the plaza, a supermarket, various restaurants and hiking trails. It's also pretty quiet given the central location.

We had an apartment on the first floor, which had a private balcony and a bedroom separate from the main living space, off the hall.
The view of the waves and the sunset were spectacular. The restaurant was yards away and their fish was delicious and very reasonable.
We were lucky with fantastic weather in February and loved the beautiful island.

Vallehermoso is excellently located for hiking routes in the centre, north and west of the island. There are bus connections with San Sebastián, the capital, and Valle Gran Rey, the main tourism destination. It is a traditional Canarian village with some attractive old houses and is a good place to relax and disconnect. There is a beach at the bottom of the valley where you can sunbathe and also swim if the waves are not too big.

The drive here is the best bit. I’m too heavily pregnant to take part in trekking but I bet it’s worth it. The town itself is ok. We weren’t made to feel welcome by one particular local who swore at us (I travelled alone with a 7 year old so felt this was uncalled for as we were only sat in a cafe eating ice cream). I would drive through again but wouldn’t stay the night as I wasn’t impressed with the accommodation or places to eat in the town.ClaireSpain

The staff were outstanding and made us so welcome, even presenting me with a birthday cake and candle! We ate in the hotel for both nights. It was priced reasonably and the food was very tasty. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast which was included in our booking. We used the local bus and the bus station was really close to the hotel (less than 5 min). We would highly recommend this hotel.

The house is spacious, has everything one (frankly 4, but also up to 6 people) needs for a calm relaxing stay. Even the internet connection is ok in this secluded part of Vallehermoso.
