Staff was very friendly and helpful, and it was a good value for money in an expensive town.

The town itself is nothing much and was disappointing from the shopping/cafe/restaurant perspective. However it is dominated by a truly spectacular and magnificent former railway station which has very recently been converted into a very comfortable hotel. The real attractions of Canfranc -Estacion are the mountains that are very close by. We were there in summer so did not see them in all their majesty but we did see where the ski runs went. Some truly great runs. We did do some short trail walks as we only had limited time but we did see others who were equipped for some serious climbing. It really is a year round resort.

Beautiful area. Lots of small interesting villages nearby.
Beautiful area. Lots of small interesting villages nearby. Scenery is breathtaking. We visited in June. Weather was great and mountains and hillsides were green and full of wildflowers. Great for hiking and perhaps biking or running. In the winter most likely a skiers paradise.

Charming mountain town with easy transport links to France and Zaragoza. Enjoyed hanging out over chocolate and churros people watching. Seems like a few things to do in the area if you have your own transport.

The staff was exceptionally hospitable and helpful. Check in and out were very flexible, and the host answered my questions thoroughly ad openly. The place was very clean, both in the public spaces and in the bedroom. Super close to the train station and great value for the little money you pay.
I also really liked that the hotel provided me with a special card to get a discount at a restaurant nearby for every meal of the day.
The location is ideal for hiking excursions with or without your dog(s). Also, it is perfectly located when coming France and travelling to Spain or the other way around. The hotel is one of the last house in a dead end road, which leads to a green area to walk your dogs or to start some hiking trips or both. The view on the terrace is nice as well and the person we spoke to at reception was nice and helpful.
The location was perfect as a stop for me. About 6 hours from home in the Alicante region and 4 hours to my next stop near Bordeaux. The hotel is within a few miles of the Somport Tunnel. The whole area is stunningly scenic and an easy, pleasant drive.
This is part of the Camino de Santiago trail too, there were lots of walkers staying in the hotel. That walk is on my list.
Breakfast was good, lots of choice
We were travelling through the region and came here out of curiosity: a very large train station in the "middle of nowhere", transformed into a 5-star hotel. And it is great. The interior has a touch of what luxury train travel probably looked like 100 years ago. Very nicely done. Dinner was excellent (creative). Breakfast good but not special. Staff friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely time for an overnight stay at Canfranc-Estación. The restored station is wonderful as a hotel with a Wes Anderson aesthetic and attentive, helpful staff. The room was tastefully decorated and we'll appointed, with beautiful views to the surrounding mountains. We ate well for breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Fabulous venue. Superbly set up in an eye catching location.
Very relaxed and easy going, with wonderful staff quietly looking after you.
The hotel restaurant has an excellent variety of interesting cuisine, with a big variety of different dishes every day.
This was a most amazing restoration and repurposing of the old train station. I Saul the property before the restoration and it was a disaster but the hotel and the organization responsible for the restoration did a remarkable job.
The quality of the room was very good, the hotel was also very clean and very conveniently located (although Canfranc is very small, so all hotels are very close to the train station; as well as all the nice hiking paths)!
Great hotel with great vibe. Wonderful cocktail bar, nice restaurant. Hotel feels a bit like a cruise ship—long and narrow. But wonderful room with great bed and best shower we have had in Spain.
The staff were delightful, and the breakfast was very good indeed - masses of choice. The location is excellent for exploring the Canfranc hotel, without actually having to stay there.
