We drove to the city center and took pictures of the Trogan horse used in the movie of Troy. There are restaurants and pastry shops all along the waterfront. It's a great place for dinner and an evening stroll. We only walked along water front so I'm not able to comment on the rest of the city.

Really nice city, with good restaurants, a lot of shops and good people, it was also near to two turkish islands Bozcaada and Gökçeada, we got to visit Bozcaada and it was really lovely however the only possibility to get to the port is by car or bus. We loved the Naval museum, but you need around an hour-hour and a half to really visit everything.

Seaside city with wonderful views, nearby convenient public beaches, historical sites.
Wandering around in Ancient city of Troy and watching sunset over Assos hilltop on Athena Temple with Seaside view were great and not to miss.
The dardanelles strait is beautiful on both sides and recommend to cross it with ferry boat for a soothing experience.
Do not forget to try local seafood, calamari and sweets of peynir helvasi.
Just watch out that on Monday some museums are closed.

Canakkale is MUCH cooler than what we expected.
Canakkale is MUCH cooler than what we expected. I recommend at least 3 nights there. We visited Gallipoli and Troy in one day but wished we had more time to spend just hanging out in Canakkale the town. Very young, cool population due to the university. Great places to go out at night also.
Convenient location if you’re driving, roughly 15 minutes from both the town of Çanakkale or the site of ancient Troy. It is also right by the sea, our room had a sea view balcony which was very nice. The breakfast had a good variety of items and was pretty good. Food from the restaurant was also very decent. Staff was mostly quite friendly and helpful but most didn’t speak much English.
When you find the hotel, if the door is shut, communicate with the owner using the WhatsApp number on the door. He will arrive and show you your room. The rooms are small, but new, clean, and better value for money than any other in Canakkale. He showed me the local restaurants, cheaper than the tourist ones on the beachfront, and let me do laundry free. Highly recommended.
We are for the first time in Turkey and we’ve spent a night at Helen Hotel on our way to Didim. The people at Helen made us feel very comfortable, warmly welcoming us. Our room was very clean, good bed, good breakfast and they also provided us refresments and a little gift for the way. I have heard many about turkish hospitality and here we lived it.
This property is brand new and is close to the Canakkale markets. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The staff were absolutely fantastic and soooo helpful. The hotel is close to the ferry terminal and many good eateries. Parking is directly in front of the hotel for 40 TL a day. We would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arose.
Boutique cozy hotel. There is private parking right across the street. The location is great, there are many cafes, restaurants and shops around. The staff was very kind and courteous. The breakfast was delicious and variety, just like the picture
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was exactly as in the photos. No complaints there. The hotel is in a good location, close to everything.
Overall, a good price for good accommodation.
We will definitely return there.
The host was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the ferry port and is in a very lively area. For those interested, there is a very basic kitchen as well as a sitting area. It's basically a 1 bedroom apartment.
This hotel is incredibly good value for money. The aesthetic of the place is incredible with lots of cute trinkets and detailing. The owner has to be one of the nicest people I’ve come across. highly recommend
Like the rest of the people in Turkey, the staff in the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The room was great and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the location was great. We had a great time.
This hotel deserves it's very good reputation. It provides excellent service at reception. Location is great and the breakfast was very good. Shower was one of the best we've had in Turkey.
The room spacious and comfortable, the location was very nice and quite. There is a swimming pool and a beach in front of the hotel.
We like very much the menu in the restaurant.
The hotel meets expectations and is good value for the money. We liked the beds, and especially the warm covers (stayed in march) and the breakfast was very pleasant too.
