Very helpful and kind host, accommodated storing our bags for 12 hours on day of check out.
We (3 people) stayed in a private bunk bed room and each bunk is fully self contained with charging ports, shelf and a blind. There was enough space in the room for 3 large and 3 small cases and also storage lockers available.

Travelled solo to do some hikes in seoraksan national park. It was a little further away compared to other hotels however, for the cleanliness & comfort, I would definitely forgo the time on the bus to stay here again.
Overlooking the sea, Lotte Resort Sokcho features a water park, fitness centre and restaurants. Sokcho Beach can be reached in under 10 minutes by car.

Despite the weather and the fact that the restaurant we wanted to go closed at 6h30 pm, which was too early for our stomach, we had a great time in Lotte Resort, especially with the spa, the noraebang and the game zone located in the same building !

Room was clean and cute. Had a nice view of the Sokcho Eye, though our view of the sea was blocked by trees. Great location for exploring the beach, and nice brew pub/ coffee shops close by.

Getting to Sokcho is pretty easy from Seoul. Perfect place for sea food lovers! Beaches are very clean. And all the places are accessible by public transport bus. Pizzalazza restaurant for pizzas, Lotteria for vegan burgers- highly recommended. Sokcho eye gives you a very beautiful view of the city. Naksansa temple is very beautiful. So is Seoraksan national park- treat for nature lovers, both are easily accessible by bus.

A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.
The hostel is in a amazing location just meters away from one of the bus stations and within walking distance from the market and beach.
The hostel in itself is very cozy/clean and it was easy to meet people there that I ended up hiking Seoraksan national park with and drinking beers/ talking with in the evening. The owner of the hostel is very kind, sweet and helpful and he makes tasty sandwiches for breakfast. I really enjoyed my time at the hostel and would recommend everyone who comes to sokcho to also stay there.
Cosy place with nice interiors and comfortable bunk beds with clean ensuite bathroom! The selection of soaps were all so nice-smelling, and the included breakfast was a great start to the day - toast with oozy egg and melty cheese freshly made by the host, paired with choice of either coffee or juice! The hand drawn map at the common area was a cute touch as well to orientate visitors to Sokcho's attractions around the accommodation. Busstop to Seoraksan Mountain was a very short walk from the hotel.
Good location close to Sokcho fish market, Abai village and the Intercity bus station (25 min walk). The area is good for exploring central Sokcho, which is a very spread out place. Hotel is also close to a big street where you can hail taxis and take buses.
The balcony view was incredible, loved waking up seeing the harbor and the sea! Room was very spacious and the bed big. I mainly booked for the view and washing machine (soooooo happy for the machine!) and that didn't disappoint.
James was a great host. He gave us lots of recommendations on what to do in Sokcho and Seoraksan National Park, and helped us sort some bus tickets for our next destination. The hostel’s location is excellent - it’s a 15 minute walk from the intercity bus station and only a short bus from the express bus terminal. It’s also only a short walk from the bus stop to Seoraksan and there are lots of food options in the nearby market. The room was comfortable enough and had an excellent shower!
We have really liked the staff and the breakfast of the Sea Cruise. The Hotel is very nice too, located near the ocean and in the city centre of Sokcho. From nearby bus stations you can easily pick a bus to Seoraksan National Park, it is worth the visit (and walk :)). Also you can reach Naksansa Temple via taxi (faster than bus). The staff was outstanding. Very friendly and helpful, we thank them a lot. And also the breakfast was surprising, so big and full of anything you may wish.
After reading all the reviews we were really excited about the guest house and meeting the owner, Judith. It didn't disappoint in the least. The guesthouse is very convenient for buses and the market. It was spotlessly clean, and Judith couldn't do enough to help us during our stay. Would definitely return if we visit Sokcho again.
Judith even helped us purchase bus tickets from Seoul and back. We couldn't find tickets online at the times she found.
This is a great value. So cheap and still so high-quality. You have your own bathroom with a great shower, and free breakfast. The rooms are clean and the beds are new. The location is also very convenient as you are very close to buses going to Soeraksan national Park, and anywhere else in the town. It’s within walking distance of the town market place. The family that runs the hotel is very helpful and the son speaks very good English.
The no contact check in and out was super easy and efficient. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfy. Kitchen was fully equipped and bathroom was great. We stayed here as we wanted to visit Seoraksan National Park. The bus stop to the park was a 2 minute walk away and buses were very frequent so would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re going to the national park but want to stay somewhere that has a bit more to offer.
The hosts are super friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Just perfect. They really helped us. The breakfasts were very tasty and delivered to the room door. We stayed 8 nights and there was always something to do. There are beautiful mountains in the Seoraksan park for hiking, beaches in walking distance and cool Sokcho town is really close too.
Kensington is a funky hotel full of quirkiness (like the restaurant's walls lined with Princess Diana's photos) and a bit tired looking. However, the view cannot be beat! It has a stunning view of the mountains of Seoraksan. We had dinners on both nights we were there in the restaurant at the hotel and the food was remarkably good! The breakfast being included is a big bonus!
Sokcho Guest House is located in the center of Sokcho, close to the fish market and bus terminal. The nearest beach is approximately 15 minutes walk away. The owner of the facility was very helpful and gave many tips in English. The free breakfast was modest but consisted of fresh products. A place worth recommending!
The Hotel is very close to the Seoraksan National Park Entrance. The owner was even so kind to give us tickets to the park. Our room had been upgraded to include a bed, but there was still the option to use futons and sleep on the heated floor. The price was very good.
The host was amazing he gave us superb recommendations what to do and where to eat, the breakfast was great and he gave us a free upgrade. Furthermore, the location is fantastic: By bus you are very good connected to Sokcho and Seoraksan National Park.
The room is generally clean. The hotel is the best location for entry to the Seoraksan National Park, less than 10 minutes away. We also enjoyed the breakfast served, with good selection. It is better to have the room and breakfast package.
The hotel is great.
Exceptionaly clean and tidy.
Good location and great value for money.
Mind the fact that this is a receptionless hotel and that you will communicate with the hosts through sms/calls.
Location, we had a seaview room! Also walking distance to Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. And near to bus stops to explore surrounding areas and Seoraksan. Room had a washing machine and microwave.
