Quaint, clean, picturesque, plenty of food outlets of all types.
Too many people in town.
Porthgwidden beach is not well known, not crowded and has good restaurant and bar etc. Other beaches are very good as well.
Parking is not easy, but e had a reserved plot. The county council could improve this and as a local councillor I have advised them how.
Accommodation is excellent.
Fairly easy to get to by car or train or bus.

We had a 'Bay View' room, but the window looking over the Bay was 'sprung', so there was just condensation and we couldn't see anything. Frankly this was very disappointing as we had paid for a Bay View room but didn't get a proper view. I wish I had pointed this out when we checked out as I feel we should have had some money back as a result. Also, there were no proper lights in the room, so we couldn't read in bed. Also, why do English hotels insist on double quilts? These are unheard of on the continent - people have their own quilts - for goodness sake Harbour View catch up with the times!

The property I booked was outside the town of St Ives in a place called Consol. However, was advertised as being in St Ives. There was builders rubble in the parking space. I was told that my 'private entrace' was through the french windows of the property and I would not, as a single traveller, have felt secure in such a situation. I did not stay at this property and would be pleased to receive a refund please.

What a picturesque town with outstanding natural beauty and so much to see in the way of art and ceramics. It does get very crowded during holiday times so I would recommend going out of season. Highlights include the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Studio, the various galleries and the beaches. The walking could be difficult for anyone with limited mobility but there are ways around that in terms of getting transport. A really stunning spot. Plenty of excellent places to eat from beach cafes to independent bakeries and coffee shops to fish restaurants. It seemed that everywhere was very dog friendly too and many visitors were there with their dogs.

We stayed at the end of the Easter holidays.
We stayed at the end of the Easter holidays. Fabulous town that can get very busy. Everywhere is a short walk and what incredible beaches and sea views.
Would recommend the surf school on Porthmeor beach. Friendly
Bunch.
Thurlestone House is an old church building converted many years ago into a hotel. It is now an extremely well run Guest House by John and Linda who really make you feel like a special guest. We had a warm welcome from John whose local knowledge was really useful. Exceptionally clean and comfortable room. Lovely walk into St Ives along the cliff path and also on a good bus route. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order from a quite sophisticated menu. Parking is a bit tight but we thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Carbis Bay.
Stayed here for 3 nights a lovely little place to stay. Staff go above and beyond, food and drink is amazing, rooms are spotlight and newly decorated. We had a family room comprising of 1 double and 2 singles and still plenty of space. They’re very accommodating and dog friendly even leaving a new toy for our dog. Towels changed daily and water etc topped up. I would highly recommend this accomodation. They also use a taxi service to and from St Ives which we found to be very reasonable too.
Sitting on a hill, the Harbour View House had a really great view of the harbor and St. Ives. The room was very comfortable and overlooked the harbor. The breakfast was very good and the bar area also overlooked the harbor and was a very pleasant place to have a drink. The access to the center of St. Ives required only a ten-minute walk so it was a very quiet place to stay. It's also a very short walk to the rail station.
It was clean, we stayed in a ‘gold’ pet friendly chalet - I think ‘gold’ is a little misleading. Functional, clean, warm - could benefit from a plug air freshener you can smell dogs (but to be expected in a dog friendly accommodation):
The site was clean, the woodland walk was nice, the staff were welcoming, pizza nice from restaurant.
Location good as a base for exploring Cornwall. Carbis Bay beach stunning.
Whoever conceived and decorated this hotel had exquisite taste. The bedroom and restaurant were lovely spaces to be in, and to look out of at the incredible view. Breakfast gets a special mention. It is far superior to a buffet: you just get given a comprehensive a la carte menu and order whatever you want. As for the staff: what a team the management has assembled!
Linda was very nice and helpful, but this is a bed and breakfast, and there was no breakfast. Although there are main floor rooms, we were put in the attic with extremely steep stairs--very difficult to get to with luggage. We felt that it was very over-priced for what it is.
The hotel was near the train station which made for a convenient travel. The property itself was clean and inviting while the staff was absolutely attentive and very courteous. The food was delicious! Would definitely come back here again.
It is a old hotel in a great location. It needs to be updated but the room was clean and the linens on the beds were nice. It was reasonably priced so a good value. Staff friendly. Easy walk to beach and restaurants
the spa and pool facilities were exceptional. the orangery restaurant was amazing, were we had a great afternoon tea. the views are the best at any hotel in Cornwall. the beach is something from a paradise island
Spotlessly clean, brilliant location, own parking space provided, hosts very welcoming. Happy to recommend and will use next time we are in St Ives. Thank you Matthew and Dawn.
Able to park. Helpful receptionist. Nice ensuite room and comfy bed. Tasty breakfast. We were able to use the facilities/spa at Carbis Bay Hotel (during the off-season).
The hotel is really nice, has stunning views from the breakfast room and outside bar. The breakfast has nice options. The spa pool is average, but always great to have.
The family that ran the hotel were extremely accommodating and the property and room were stunning. Far exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend.
