Our room was a typical hotel room adequate for our 2 night stay to visit the surrounding area. The restaurant and bar at the hotel were handy for dinner and drinks on both nights of our stay as the hotel is situated on the outskirts of Exeter. There were a wide variety of choices for the included breakfast. There were plenty of car parking spaces to park. Communication prior to our arrival was appreciated.

Set around the Exe River, affluent Exeter has played a part in English history from the Roman era to William the Conqueror to the Spanish Armada. Its most impressive structure is the cathedral, begun in the 11th century and boasting the longest stone roof in England.
The surrounding green is a popular picnic spot, and the half-timbered buildings and red-brick façades of the neighbouring High Street house a host of shops. Even more are in the Princesshay and Guildhall shopping centres.
The Guildhall itself is considered England’s oldest municipal building still in use, while nearby Parliament Street is one of the world’s narrowest streets. The remains of 11th-century St Nicholas Priory are now a museum, and there are more red-stone ruins at hilltop Exeter Castle (or Rougemont Castle), built into the Roman walls.
Exeter Central Station is behind the castle, while St Davids Station is nearer the university. The large student population means that the city has good nightlife, and some bars are located by the Quayside, site of Custom House. The river flows past Topsham and Powderham Castle to enter the sea at Exmouth.
To the east are Exeter Airport and the Westpoint Arena exhibition centre, both easily reached from Booking.com’s hotels with spas, cheap apartments and guest houses with parking.

Exeter is a lovely place , however, if driiving it is a nightmare lots of one way streets nowhere to stop if lost , almost no on street parking (unless a payment machine is there ) this is especially frustrating if visiting the royal hospital as the car park cannot cope , and all the surrounding roads are double yellow lines , many people driving around in circles missing appointments and getting angry.

Exeter quay is vibrant, attractive and a lovely area to visit. We walked along the canal whilst others paddled to a lovely pub called double locks. Lunch was excellent at the pub. Evening at local gin distillery- quayside gins which again was excellent. Only stayed one night but would highly recommend.

It was good to see some historical site and there are a fair few things to see and to go and see just need to know where to go but try to do all the things you want to do through the day ovis not the nicest of places to go out at night
An ale drinker's paradise, with a micro-brewery on site and a host of ales on tap, this city centre bar is a great social venue. But it is more than a bar; the accommodation is on a par with (and with superior staff to) many superior hotels - at a fraction of the price. It is situated on the main shopping street in Exeter, and quite literally 30 seconds walk to the historic cathedral or restaurants like The Ivy.
This is a very basic hotel offering a comfortable bed a reasonable bathroom and little else. We didn’t meet anyone in the hotel. Entrance was via a key box. No food available. The main advantage is that it is in easy walking distance of Exeter airport and we had an early flight. So it met that particular need well and there were no comparable alternatives. Not somewhere to stay for more than one might
The property is a handy walking distance from Exeter St David’s Station, although, be warned, it is pretty much steeply uphill a lot of the way! I booked a superior double room and I was not disappointed. The room was spacious and lovely! The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of the city centre. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would most definitely stay here again.
The radio playing soft music on arrival was a nice touch, especially late in the day, when it gives a relaxing mood for the arriving guest.
The location is very conveniently located halfway between for Exeter St Davids station and the Exeter town centre, and is very quiet at night. The building itself is a pleasant one too. The single room I stayed in was compact (shower only no bath) but adequate.
Good location for city centre with parking opposite, really friendly staff.
Room compact but comfortable with a nice shower, loo and sink.
Nice busy buzz in the bar with a band playing when we returned in the evening.
Our room was above the drum kit so we joined in the fun!!
Nice full English breakfast in the morning.
Loved everything about Leonardo Hotel Exeter. Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the city centre. Spacious and cosy lobby: you want to hang out there and enjoy a drink at the bar. The room was spacious, bright, clean, and comfortable. Had the best of nights in a comfy bed. Staff were lovely and friendly.
BCouldn't of wished for a nicer host who always was available to help with queries. Breakfast was amazing and room spacious and clean and comfy. Right next to st davids and central stations city centre a mere 10 min away walking. Very nice all round ile definately be back here if I came exeter again.
Overall it was absolutely clean, well maintained, cosy and comfortable for a family of four. We had two rooms booked both were super comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Enjoyed our stay at Exeter Court Hotel which made our move to Exeter so much more easier.
The room was spacious and clean, and quiet except when the front window was open to the road. Very comfortable beds. The staff were all very professional and helpful. We liked the airy dining area and lounge. We liked being able to walk into the city centre from the hotel.
Have stayed at the hotel a number of times and it is our favourite place in Exeter. Staff are super friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is fantastic ánd the location is very convenient for the city centre. 10 out of 10 😀!
Fantastic location in the centre of Exeter providing a base for going out. Lots of resturants in easy walking distance. Everything we needed was provided, although cooking might have been tricky with the pans available!
The bed was comfortable, and the hotel was walking distance to the Quay and the centre. The bathroom was also nice. Surprise mini fridge in a cupboard (we didn't use it).
Lovely old building right in the city centre. Attached to a pub with microbrewery. The room was clean and comfortable. Nice to have a coffee machine. Cleaned every day.
Good base for exploring Exeter. Modern hotel room with comfy bed, excellent bathroom, spacious. Courteous and professional staff. Great value for money.
The bed was very comfortable, the hotel has plenty of car parking and the overall location is convenient for both Exeter City centre and the Quay area.
