We live on a boat, so having an A/C in the room was FANTASTIC! We didn't stay in the room much except to shower and sleep, so it was exactly what we needed for a short get-away.

Roberto is a kind of guy who is nice just because he really is, not because it is avised to be. He took care of us very much and gave us a bigger apartment with no additional cost. Thank you!
The property is less than one-minute walk from the beach and 30 seconds from a shop and restaurants.

Having visited both Ensenada and Punta Rucia beaches...
Having visited both Ensenada and Punta Rucia beaches regularily over the last 25 Years Punta Rucia is by far the best ... Ensenada has gone down in all aspects. We loved our experiance at Punta Rucia Lodge resort, the service, prices, staff's attention and overall service in all departments was excellent, the beach front well kept, clean and serviced by security ( available if needed) wonderful place to visit!!

It is definitely a hidden gem!
It is definitely a hidden gem! One must stay there for 2-3 nights rather than doing the Cayo Arena tour and leaving. There are many activities that you can do but the best actually is not doing anything and just enjoying the quietness of the beach and ocean. For some people, it might feel unsafe as the area is quite poor and the town itself has more local tourists but in reality, there is nothing to be afraid of. People are super nice and I even met solo traveling girls staying at the local B&Bs. Order pizza from Lino Pizza, and you will thank me! Also if you go to Cayo Arena look for Rikeury, 15y old boy who can show you the reef, he is the best!

It looks like a beautiful resort.
It looks like a beautiful resort. However, I'd suggest doing the day pass if you're close by. We had no hot water and there were mosquitoes EVERYWHERE in our lodge. Also, we didn't have wifi in our lodge, which they did end up giving us a booster.
The beach was beautiful and tranquil. I truly enjoyed the seclusion and peaceful atmosphere.
The food was okay. They had some small local spots outside of the resort, but it was definitely easier to eat on the resort.

There is nothing to do or see
There is nothing to do or see
It's quite hard to find fruits or vegetables in this area
It's a really small village - one night is enough!
Cayo Arena is the place everybody goes to, so by daytime there are hundreds of tourist being on a small island to snorkle there - it feels like mass processing!

The place is breath-taking.
The place is breath-taking. The beach is beautiful and clean. The place is far from the touristic area, it s quiet and relaxing. The breakfast is good. The service at the restaurant and bar is very good. The restaurant is a bit expensive but the food is good (mix of french/italian/dominican food.
Overall we were quit disappointed with our experience:
- there is a huge lack of information; we would have liked a booklet in the room referencing the prices and duration of the spa treatments, the excursions, the restaurant working hours etc...
- we realise after 4 days that the beach chairs have mattresses (100 times more confortable), they only put them on the w.e. Same for the beach towels, one day they are available, one day we have to take the swimming pool one. Same for shampoo and shower gel (I had to ask twice)
-the room cleaning could be improved, the mirror and the area around the sink were not cleaned daily.
- we were on honeymoon, the manager said he will send us flowers, we never got them...
- the front desk lady doesn't speak english
Overall we think that the value for money is not really positive for this hotel. Amazing place but average service.

Punta Rucia is a remote location on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, it is heaven! untouched by big chain hotels and truly hope it remains that way!!!! Cannot wait to go back to its sandy beaches!
We were a little unsure about choosing a Hostel, but the experience easily meet our expectations and the service and ease of everything went way higher than hoped. Villa Rosa has recently acquired their own boat to take you to Cayo Arena, so it was very easy to book and the timing of the trip was excellent. We were also able to keep our rooms until after our return allowing us to shower and change before departing this sleepy backwater in DR. Punta Rucia itself was a charming little town, look out for the Ravioli - definitely worth a try.
Perfectly located right on the beach however it is a bit isolated from nearby shops/ restaurants
Beautiful pool and decking area especially at night where you have meals.
Lovely pier to walk on and watch the beautiful sunset and small fish at night.
Very close to Cayo Arena (15 minutes by boat). RECOMMEND walking 15minutes down the beach to Pa' Cayo Arena con Janel where it costs 4,500 DR per boat compared to the hotels 148 US dollar.
Good AC and fan in ocean view room.
When we visited it was amazingly quiet and relaxing to wake up by the ocean and watch the waves. The water is so blue, one cannot take their eyes off it. The hotel staff is extra friendly and kind, and we appreciated it a lot. The room had everything we needed and the hammock was the best! Also enjoyed playing basketball in the garden and the Cayo Arena tour they organized for us, a lot!
The owner (Rene) is really nice! He helped us organize the tour to Cayo Arena and he cooked a delicious dinner for us! The hotel is in a good location, halfway between Playa Punta Rucia and Playa Ensenada. The room was spacious and well equipped (air conditioning, shelves and clothing racks). We were at the top floor and had access to a large terrace with a good view.
The service of the staff working there and the availability to answer questions of interest to tourists is very good. If they improve some cleaning details, I think it is a very good hotel for people/families who want to visit the Ensenada and Punta Rucia, which are relatively close. The Ensenada Beach is nice and seemed calm during our stay.
The location is very close to the Ensenada beach.
Basic room, working air conditioner, hot water and tv
The only remarkable thing about the place is the host. OSCAR is a diligent, kind and helpful guy, trying to do his best so you have a good stay.
Breakfast was ok, but presentation and taste can be improved
Good wifi
I love how peaceful this place is. I stayed here with my partner and mother in law and we had the absolute best time. The beach is amazing. The staff is friendly and extremely pleasant. The AC works wonderful. I recommend eating at this hotel vs the beach. I’ll definitely be coming back
The host is incredable. He tries to give you the best experience based on your personal needs. The location is perfect, in the quiet place that Punta Rucia is. The accomodation is comfortable, clean and functional.
Thank you Roberto & team!
Located a few hundred meters away from the main road, it's a perfectly new and very quiet hotel (or small rooms) just a few minutes away from Punta Rucia.
Super friendly staff and 3 good breakfast options (local/international/etc.)
Situated on the beach, the hotel is perfect for relaxing, visiting Paradise Island, and just a short drive from the Manatee marine park. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff was super friendly.
Nice hotel next to the beach.
Hotel had nice pool and the hotel staff was very nice and great.
They served a lot of different food in menu, but because it was not holiday season, all food was not availabe.
Great breakfast, Janine is a Perfect Host. The location is right in the middle of the village and in front of the beach! Just perfect to experience the real DR
